The short answer is no. The badge is affixed to a piece of vinyl that's sewn onto the hatband. It could be cut off, but would leave a scar.

No, but it’s tightly woven so the sun does not come through.

Does it fit for a 8 ¼ hat size?

I'm a 7 3/8 to 7 1/2 and for me, the XL was a perfect fit. i guess you'd need an XXL...

How does it do in rain?

It has little holes in it for ventilation . It’s made of straw and should not get wet unless you want it reshaped .
