When it arrived today, I was disappointed when first opening the box, as it was smaller than I anticipated (no deception in product description; but it's a lot smaller than the prior 2 models I've had. BUT...it is working great. The smaller size does mean that I miss some of the flying critters. But I'm getting plenty of them. I don't know what kind of bug this is; but it's pretty tiny. And the other larger model I bought earlier this year killed almost none of them. That model has, I guess, much larger gaps and these tiny bugs just escaped between.The yellow one is the "good" one that I got today. (On the right side of the photos, in case someone is color-blind. LOL) Even though the parallel wires look fairly far apart, they seem to be doing a fantastic job killing my tiny flying insects. The larger paddle, with the mesh pattern of wires, is the one that is completely ineffectual.I am very very happy with this purchase.

One of the best inventions ever. Works for flies, mosquitoes, water bugs, etc. For bigger bugs, it stuns them and eventually kills them if you hold it on them long enough.

This is like the one that I’ve had for years. They are a bit delicate. You have to be careful not to press it against a wall and push because the head might snap off, other than that I’ve had so many other brands that don’t work good at all. This one works because it does not have a guard. It’s expensive so take care of it and it will last and never leave outside in the weather. I have five now and no more fighting for the good ones.

I specifically selected this item because it used two AA batteries, instead of larger ones and it was a little smaller than others. I was hoping it would be identical to one I bought over 10 years ago...It is a little heavier than my original one and I don't know why they chose a square instead of circular cross section for the handle. It seems to work OK. However, like most of the new versions of these products, this has a bleeder resistor across the high voltage capacitor, so you have to keep the button pushed when in use. I liked this older way of operation, although it is a little more dangerous, so I chose to remove the bleeder resistor...

Only worked for a month. Light comes on but zapper doesn’t ignite. Waste of money

Some would think this too small but we use for camping. When you get in a tent this is the perfect size to sweep the inside of the tent and kill the stragglers that get in before you zip up.

My husband loves this thing. He demanded I get several more to place in the garage, in the house and in his other outbuilding. It definitely stops bugs in their tracks but it doesn’t do a killing shot on the first zap. Battery life has been very good. Great for flies, wasps and mud daubers. I’ve even used it in a scorpion (but they can get mad and run pretty fast).
