Power in Praise
This is one of my favorite books! I just gave this book to my grandaughter along with a story to prove the point. Here is the story:A Story to Remember.... "In Everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you".... I Thessalonians 5:18This story could very well have been in your book, Power In Praise, one of my most cherished books. It is an amazing story of how God directs our lives even when we don't have a clue that He is calling all the shots and always for our own good.Your dad was a little boy about the age that he is in this photograph. Our friends, the Olsens were with us and we had just put up the tipi on the ranch and we were having smores. It was Thanksgiving night, and we had a fire going in the tipi. There was snow on the ground but we were warm as toast. Everything was going okay until Davey Olsen accidently poked your dad in the eye with the pointed end of his smores stick. Dan cried just a little bit, but then it was over... We thought it was over, that is, but it was only the beginning....A few days later, your dad was in a swimming class at the Spa Motel, and one of the other little boys accidentally came up from under the water and hit your dad hard under his chin. It was a good hit so much so that it jammed his front teeth rightup into his gums. That hurt, and that night we could tell that Dan was still really agitated, and not himself. He kept complaining about his teeth hurting, but finally he went to sleep. There was a blizzard that night and we felt that there was nothing we could do until the morning. Nothing we could do, that is.At about 12 midnight, Macey, your dad woke us up and was crying and crying....he got in the bed with us, and he kept saying..."my teeth, my teeth", and big tears were running down his face. Your grand dad David put some ice on his upper lip and gave him some baby aspirin. But NOTHING seemed to help.He just kept crying with those big tears streaming down his face.I got up and went into the living room several times that night to kneel down and pray for Dan. I knew that God had said to "give thanks in everything" but that was really hard to do when my little boy was hurting so.Finally, at about 6 AM, I knelt down in the living room once more and cried out to God. "Oh, God, with my heart I cannot thank You for this BUT, (I finally came to it.....) BUT with my MIND I WILL THANK YOU....I will, dear Lord, I will thank you." That was the hardest prayer I ever prayed. And I went back to bed.In a few minutes, Dan, still crying, said, "My eye, my eye!", and I said, "What? Your eye?" And we turned on the light, and Macey, there among all those tears were little pieces of sticks..not splinters, but little pieces, about 1/8" square on his cheek..coming from his eye. I am sitting here crying again. I will never forget that as long as I live! And, the amazing thing is that the moment that all those little sticks were out of his eye.....Dan stopped crying..immediately..nothing hurt anymore, and later the dentist said that his teeth were okay...he was good to go!God had to allow all those tears to wash those little sticks out. Later the doctor said that apparently those sticks had jammed way back into his skull, and could have caused some major problems later on if God had not stepped in and washed them out. No one else knew they were there. God knew and He handled it.Thanking God for everything became crystal clear to all of us. We could not then nor can we now see into the future...but God sees and knows the future. And we can trust God's view every time....100% of the time... "In Everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you!"

Definitely worth reading…… very eye opening and answers questions that we want to know about faith
I loved this book. The author writes where he answers questions that we as Christians have and don’t understand. Very eye opening as to how we can handle bad things in our lives that happen for no reason. He gives examples in stories he has experienced as a pastor.

God uses this book to change lives!!
This book is so readable as it keeps you attention with well written spiritually impactful positive stories of how God works through faith!! God used this book to keep me from ending my life and to reveal his plan of salvation to me in 1976.

Oh my goodness!!!
This book was recommended by another author that stated "before you read this book you must read Power of praise" and oh how glad I did!! This book is life changing!! I instantly felt Holy Spirit in this book as I read the first two pages and all the way to the end. It was like light bulbs going off in my head page after page. I recommend it to two friends already lol. Holy Spirit definitely wanted me to read this book and I'm oh so grateful that I did. I was able to put the principles from this book pretty much to practice right away and they work. I had a situation I have been dealing with since December of 2019 and it still made me very upset when I thought about it and I would scream in anger and cry. So today as I read through the book some additional information came up and I got angry again and I started to cry. Then I immediately realized here is an opportunity to put the principles to work, so I begin to thank God for this situation. I thanked Him for the betrayal, lies and the revelation of this situation and just kept praising and thanking Him. I went on and thanked Him or every manipulator that I learned a lesson from that lead to my broken heart. I continue on, and I tell you honestly I began to gag and spit and I keep on praising Him until my heart was free. 20 minutes went by while I praised God and I am free, instead of anger I feel compassion towards that person. I forgave them and set them free and I pray when you read this book you too will experience this same freedom.

I love the Carothers Books
Take your mind off of your problems and just PRAISE God. Carothers draws a link (like I have never heard anyone do) between praising God and trusting God. If you REALLY trust God, trust His nature, trust that He cares, trust that He is kind and good and loving, then you can actually PRAISE Him for all that is going wrong in your life, because your heartbreaks and struggles are only temporary, His love endures forever. Is He praiseworthy or not!? Is He sovereign or not!? Does He care or doesn't He? Sometimes there is NO GRAY AREA where God is concerned. God is worthy and deserving of our PRAISE in all of our turmoil, and in many cases we should be praising Him FOR our turmoil. We must trust that He is doing a work in us for the greater good of someone else and for the glory of His kingdom.Count it all joy my brothers when you face various trials. What a hard word in a harsh world, and yet, isn’t He always working in us to give us both the desire to please Him and the power to please Him, even when we're flat out broken? For the joy set before Him He endured His cross, shall we not also follow Him and endure our struggle? Can we believe that we also will overcome? And can we believe that He has placed a joyous future before us as well? Praising Him tells our soul that it’s okay to trust Him. So let us lay aside every encumbrance and sin which entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, let's not be weary and lose heart, but PRAISE Him, for He is truly trustworthy.
