very good 2500 watt inverter
if you need something for a 12V system in my opinion this inverter rocks. you can see it in action on a vid i posted on youtube ( ... ) it can be hardwired in to get full output at one connection, it runs at its rated output and more imo. It can run big 8foot fluorescent lights in my garage, desktop, refrigerator and still can handle my BIG 2000 watt microwave when i turn it on, but trust me the fans will scream with that load goin heheh .. i know my electronics, this inverter is a steal .. dont expect perfection though, the power isnt ultimate clean. I didnt have any real issues with the cleaness of the power except with one thing, the ups on my pc would reset occasionally and cause my desktop to shutdown .. direct wall plugging everything solved that i just dont use the ups with it now. My laptop works fine, desktop works fine directly plugged to the wall, my digital clocks, digital microwave, chargers including high tech rc model chargers - everything - works just fine on it. I have it hooked to 8 215AH golfcart bats with 4/0 cable (dont skimp on the power cable if you want full output)i have a second one on order so i can divide up my loads for my whole house and i would recommend this inverter to anyone that has a 12V system.

Sunforce 11240 1000-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter
I got this Inverter for my work shop and also to help out when the power goes off. This is the best Inverter I have ever gotten. It will do all of the 1000 watt+. I have had this Inverter for about a year and it has not ever been a problem so I also ordered the Sunforce 11260 2500-Watt Pure Sine Wave Inverter so I could run larger motors and more power. I will update you when I get the 2500 watt and try it out. If it works as good as the 1000 watt Inverter then I will never have no problem with it. I have had several Inverters of different makes and models but I have found out that the Sunforce Pure Sine Wave Inverter is the best of them all. It will start motors that are rated up to 15 amps but it can only run them until I put a lot of power on the motor then the Inverter will shut down because it will run about 8.2 amps at 1000 watts. But I will be testing the 2500 watt with the same motors and I will let you know how it works. With a 5000 watt surge start for about 3 sec it should start large motors. I have 2 electric motors rated at 19 amps at 2 HP so the Inverter should run this motor if not I will let you know. I give the 1000 watt Inverter a 5 star and more. If you want a good Inverter get this one it works great!!!. I am running a car alternator with a gas motor and it charges my deep cycle battery and keeps it charged while the Inverter is running. I plan to connect another alternator to the motor to use with the 2500 watt Inveter so each alternator puts out 110 amps for a total of 220 amps. The gas motor is 8 HP and should handle the 2 alternator's just fine. Just so you know I have a 110 amp alternator hooked to a 2 HP electric motor in my shop and it will the electric motor had never stalled ever it runs at 3450 RPM and is a direct drive. So my 8 HP gas motor should handle the 2 alternator just fine. This way my battery will never run down while I use the Inverter at full power.

Lasts about a year or so
The inverter is a high frequency unit. Advantage: light weight. Sensitive to moisture and humidity. Poor quality control. When it fails it fails big time. Smoke, flames and sparks. So far I owned two of these units and both , in about one year time failed big time. Replaced it with a low frequency unit. After about a year or so, no issues. Very reliable.

The unit worked fine for a couple of months ....
UPDATE: June 2012 - Sunforce promised to send me a return authorization but never did. DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. SUNFORCE IS A TOTALLY UNRELIABLE COMPANY.I bought this unit to convert my solar recharged (8) 115ah 12V Batteries to power everything in my 700 sqft home. I live off grid in the rural Mojave Desert. Actually the unit worked very well for a couple of months, then the fans stopped coming on when the temperature got above 75 degrees. As the unit got hot, it went into over-heat mode and OST shutdowns began to prevail. My big complaint is that I can not get Sunforce customer service to respond to my many requests to take the unit back and fix it. While waiting for a Sunforce response, I have had to resort to inventing ways to keep the unit cool such as placing a pan of cool water on top of the unit in order to cool the body of the unit. This actually works very well until the water in the pan gets hot, then you have to place a frozen bottle of water in the pan to cool the heated water (must replace the frozen bottle every 2hrs).Even if Sunforce ever does take the unit back, since I am off grid, I will have to buy a 2nd Sunforce Inverter to keep my home electrified while my broken Sunforce Inverter is sent in for repairs .......... other than the broken automatic cooling fan system and non-existent customer service, this is a very good unit. It handles all of my household appliances, 1HP water pump, refrig, microwave, toaster oven, rice maker, TV, VCR, computer, lights, printer, swamp cooler, vacuum cleaner, most electric tools. If Sunforce does not take the unit back, I am tempted to do some modifications on the unit myself such as a manual low-speed fan switch and automatic on-off timer.

I am happy very happy with this inverter.
I bought this inverter for power outages. I used 1 awg wires connected to my 1125 amp hour battery bank. The battery bank is wired in series and parallel with 4 awg wires. I used the hardwire option so I get the full 2500 watts from the inverter. From the inverter I plug into my transfer switch when the power goes out and it has worked perfectly .. I power my fridge, furnace, lights, fans, alarm system, electrical outlets, hot water tank, internet router, laptops everything I need in a power outage.Pure sine wave is amazing I tried it on my 50 inch plazma hdtv and the picture quality is equal to what I get from regular utility power. The fans on the inverter work great for keeping the unit from over heating. For the money this inverter is awesome only wish Sunforce had a 3500 watt or 4500 watt model. I don't understand the negative reviews as it has worked great for me ..if you use the proper wires and do the research this inverter is all you need in an emergency or for just powering power tools and other house hold items. The price of this inverter was the best on the market it was delivered on time and in perfect condition. I am a satisfied customer.

Good price compared to other places
I use this inverter for my house hooked up to 4 12v battery bank.cons The inverter draws more power then most and creates more heat. Don't rely on the 2 front breakers when there's a short they are analog and will damage the inverter before tripping. The wall panel switch only comes with a 24 inch cable so to turn it on and off from another room is only done with the wireless fob that I guess you need to have it with you all the time I give this a 5 out of 10 rating due to the price there's no protection like advertised ,the power it draws and no option to toggle the display on watts used and volts we have from our source. PROS the inverter is built to last if used in a well ventilated area. This inverter will run everything in my house other then dryer and stove it can even handle the start up power witch is almost double of what your running The 4 fans on the back do an amazing job cooling the unit fast. I like the wireless fob option display shows amp used.which is handy

Great product!
Using it now for more than half a year, works with no problems. It supplies power to my small 4 cubic' Danby fridge and 6 BTU Danby window AC unit. Very happy with it.Update :Last year I took it off of my truck just because it was sold. Unit still working great , now it will go to my teardrop to continue good work. Very happy with it!More than 4 years now ,still going strong! If this one goes I will bye another one.

good voltage control on lower current loads
Found it to perform well, good voltage control on lower current loads. However I found it pulled the voltage down to 109 volts when I turned the microwave on and am wondering if I could improve this by paralleling the two 10 amp outputs.

Grossly unreliable
Garbage don't buy this unit.Followed all the instructions provided with the unit.Plugged it on a 12 volt battery bank, worked for less than three weeks. The troubleshooting guide indicates that I have a faulty unit and I should contact customer service.Customer service is not helpful and don't seem to want to replace the defective unit. They keep giving me the runaround and want me to explain again and again what is wrong with the unit. Not impressed with the product, less impressed with customer service.Save your money don't buy Sunforce.
