Best Microphone Shock Mount I Have Used.
This Rycote mic shock mount has been really great. I love the design and how it isolates the microphone. Its not that bulky and holds the mic very secure. The construction is all plastic except for the mount. It came with an adapter to fit larger sizes as well. On the inside edges of the mic holder there is a grippy, rubber surface to prevent slippage. The holder is only big enough for 19 to 34mm diameter mics so check what yours is first before purchasing. This is a very common size range however. Currently, I use it with a Sennheiser MKE 600 shotgun mic, a K-TEK travelers boom pole and a MixPre 3 Sound Devices recorder for compact on the go stuff. You'll wanna pic up a blimp and a dead cat if you do not have one already. Perfect Shockmount for the MKH-416
This is a great Lyre shockmount for shotgun microphones, but for my purposes I'm mainly using it with the Sennheiser MKH-416 and a K-Tek K102CCR boom pole. So far, I am impressed. My last shockmount was an older Rycote design with a pistol grip that was starting to lose its luster and got a little floppy, so I upgraded to this one. I like how secure it feels, and I really LOVE the cable clip.I am hoping this lasts a while, but I have my doubts. The lyres seem like they'll last long enough, but the cable clip might get loose quickly.

Made in the UK
Pro-quality shotgun mic mount. Yes, this is a relatively expensive item (pro-level stuff costs $), but one thing I don't see mentioned much is that it's made in the UK rather than in SE Asia.

Solid performer
Very effective mount, adaptable to a number of different mics. A bit pricey, but it’s professional gear.

Robust, light and can use with MOST mics (unusually)
Built robustly, with good clamping force on the screw hinge to ensure no movement.I use this with Shotgun microphones (probably 99% of all people's use case) - for this purpose, its fantastic and way better than the cheaper rubber band suspension ones.On the flip side the portion where the mic is placed, this mount is very flexible, so much so that I also use this mount for shock absorption on vocal microphones in live music recordings. I can verify that any typical Mic (handle) diameter size will fit. This includes Shure SM58 type mics all the way to chunky ones like the Earthworks SR314. Due to the nature of the flexible rubberised mic mount, it seems to flex along the entire length of the mount and fit snuggly. There is also enough space in the design to allow a velcro strap (like those cable tidy style ones) which can fit and secure the mic to provide additional peace of mind - though not really needed.I love using this as its very compact and light. More please!

Destroys the standard Rode mount
I'm new to dlsr film making and I purchased a Rode NTG2 to connect to a Sony PCM-M10 and took it away on my first full day video shoot, all I used was the standard rigid mount by Rode as I thought this would be fine. I had noticed during filming that if my headphone cable swung gently into the tripod legs, you could hear the clunk in the audio faintly. Some creaking of my tripod head when panning resonated right through to the mic and if I mistakenly touched the cable it would make a horrendous noise. I had thought that I would have been fine just being careful but every now and again I'd get caught out.I got back and immeditely went to buy those wire mounts but some reviews claimed that the bands ping off or snap and then I saw this and watched a Youtube vid on it and ordered it. It's a fair price but you get what you pay for. This handles serious abuse and has memory and bends back into shape. It holds the NTG2 tight and absorbs nearly everything, the best bit is the clamp at the bottom that holds the cable really tight to isolate the cable from there to the mic and take out all sound below the clamp. After shooting with this, I can be much more boisterous with my handling and know that sound is fine, such a relief after having to treat the rig with ultra care to avoid the tiniest sound appearing in my audio. It can be angled up or down and stays locked solid.

Beste Microhalterung - ever!
