The Living Bible Large Print Edition, TuTone (LeatherLike, Brown/Tan) Imitation Leather – Large Print, May 1, 2013

I have many Bibles--I typically read one/year--but had never read this paraphrased bible called The Living Bible. Am enjoying reading the easy-to-understand text. The "large print" is just right. Now my husband is asking me to order one for him. This is his favorite version of the Bible; but the print in his old one is very small to read. I would especially recommend this for anyone who is a new bible reader, because it's so easy to understand. It's hard to put down! This particular version (the leather-like cover) feels very nice to hold, and the ribbon bookmark helps keep your place where you last left off reading. I'm very happy with this Bible. Now, if only they had The Living Bible in a "Chronological" format... :-)

The large print makes a huge difference. Mine is the standard size but I got the large print Bible as a gift and it’s so nice. I love it and they love it. I definitely recommend.

Very greatful for this version of many bibles that I own it adds clarity very much so….it is a must have for clarity compare and read it along with what ever Bible such as the King James or The New International Version or The Living Bible is a great addition to the knowledge of God spoken in plain English for a clearer and Greater understanding of the Word of God.

I have the ESV, NIV, NASB, The Action Bible, NRSV and now the Living Bible. I love my others for study (except The Action Bible...that's just for fun), but I was getting hung up on words or concepts I didn't understand. I'd have to stop and look things up or research them. I love doing that, but sometimes I just wanted to read and enjoy God's Word. My grandmother had this version growing up, so I thought I'd give it a try. I wasn't crazy about The Message Bible and I hadn't gotten to read much of Max Lucado's Bible called "The Story" although I may check that out in the future. The Living Bible is great, easy to understand....just flows nicely. I find myself reading whole chapters and books at a time because I don't want to put it down. Before I'd read a passage or sometimes a couple chapters because I'd have to keep stopping to process the content. The imitation leather is very soft and flexible. My son accidentally bent the back cover, and you can barely see a line from the crease. It just lays back down like real leather. The colors and embossing are very classic and it has a beautiful look. All of my hard cover Bibles have fallen apart after a few years even if I'm gentle with them because the glue hardens and cracks in the binding. I also liked the large print because its easier on my eyes, but its not the largest of large prints. Its just bigger than regular font. I hope you'll give it a try because you might find yourself reading the Bible more than you thought you ever would. Don't be afraid that it'll dilute the word because I find myself going back to my other versions to cross reference a lot.

Comes in a heavy cardboard box but didn’t have any plastic wrapped around the actual Bible. Just a suggestion with all the wet weather. My disabled father loves the large print. Recommend this product!

I like this version of God's Word however I am surprised the writers did not capitalize the Godhead (He, Him, I Am, Light, etc). Anything the refers to the Godhead should be capitalized

This translation was done during the 1960s and completed and published originally in 1971. Yes the language made me be a little dated and Dr Taylor who made the translation for his children occasionally throws in a rather sophisticated word but overall I would say it's extremely readable. Reader beware this is translated by a Calvinist. The printing was not high-end quality but it is very usable. There are a few nice features added and overall I would recommend this.
