Pretty useful
It's an excellent tool! But it has a weakness, the movement in the toolbag make it to loose the screws n eventually the blade come out. You have to check it out every 3 or 5 days for tightening the screws. But it's an amazing tool!

Impressive!!
I was able to cut 2 1/2" schedule 40 PVC with one hand!!! And it worked every time, no trying to cut deep enough to get to the next notch, no jams, just smooth cuts. The length is short enough that I could get into tight places in the pump house.

This is a piece of crap.
I bought this to cut 1" PVC schedule 40 pipe. Where do I begin? It won't cut a darn thing straight for starters. When it does cut, it struggles to get into the plastic, so it starts to bend the pipe before it actually cuts.If you are trying to trim off an inch or less, forget it ... it just mangles the pipe. This was a huge waste of money. It's cheap garbage.I'd give it zero stars and run it over with my car if it was worth my time.

Works well. Good value, and strong.
Spent the day cutting through 1.5 inch PVC. Works great. Take your time until you can feel the blade finally pierce the tube, then smooth sailing from there. Clean straight cuts every time.

It's great but...
I have used an Orbit PVC cutter that I bought 23 years ago, off and on, for weekend projects, up until about 6 months ago. It started to get dull, and no amount of sharpening seemed to help. I have a weekend project coming up, where I am expecting to have to cut many pipes, some as big as 2 inches, so I was looking to buy a new PVC cutter, and one with a larger capacity. Then I saw this one on Amazon and decided to give it a try. It's a bit bigger than I was expecting. That makes sense since this one is able to cut larger pipes. My Orbit cutter was only able to do 1.5 inches. This cutter is also a bit heavier than I was expecting. I'm not expecting the extra weight and size will help me bulk up at all. But now I'm going to have to make room in my tool box.Right away, I decided to try to cut some pipes. The first thing that surprised me was that when you open the blade... it opens for you, and it opens all the way. As you pull the handle apart, when you get it 1/8 inch open, the blade snaps to the full open position. My Orbit cutter required your effort throughout the opening process and you decided how far open you wanted it. That was a feature I appreciated since most of the pipes I was cutting were 1/2 or 3/4 in. I didn't have to ratchet from 1 1/2 just to make contact with my pipe. I don't see anything that allows you to limit how far this cutter will open. One of the reasons I bought this cutter is that I can get replacement blades. I hate to throw away a perfectly good tool just because a $5 part of it is worn out. So I decided to see how easy/difficult it is to replace the blade. The instructions say to line up the 3 holes. Looking at the blade, I only see 2 holes. I couldn't figure out why you would need to line them up as they are already in a line. But now that I've replaced the blade, I understand what those instructions are trying to say -- you need the 1 hole in the blade to be lined up with the 2 holes in the grip, one on either side. Which... is very difficult to do. I needed an extra set of hands. I did eventually get the blade back into the grip, but I'm not going to attempt that again until I actually have to replace the blade.I will update this review when my project is over.

Very easy to use when working with irrigation pipes, helps out a ton with clean cuts. Very sharp.

As Advertised
Received as advertised. This is larger than the regular one found at the big box stores. This is what I needed.

Will not cut square unless you push on the blade while cutting.
I used this to cut 2" PVC. If you just cut the PVC you will not get a square cut. The blade wanders. I put sideways pressure on the blade during the cut and was able to get a pretty square cut. Ok for the price. I've only made about 6 cuts and they have been OK.
