Read the reviews - do not buy!
I should have read the reviews more thoroughly. Same fail point after 3 months of light usage - where the handle meets the top. Cheap plastic piece broke, contacted customer service about returning or replacing and was told, "30 day return only." What kind of ridiculous warranty is that?!?!?!? As others have stated - stay far away from this product and vendor!

Terrible build quality, apparently no quality check.
This is my second attempt at using this product. The first one snapped at the pivot point, as many others have reported. Initially, I suspected I had applied excessive force, so I decided to purchase another one. Regrettably, it also broke. The build quality is abysmal. At least the first one produced thin tortillas or rotis. That’s why I decided to buy it again after it failed. Unfortunately, this one has a flaw at the end where two plates connect. When I press it, it doesn’t close completely. Instead, it lifts from the back, resulting in extremely thick and tasteless tortillas or rotis. I am deeply disappointed with this product and will not be purchasing from this brand again.

Not working as I thought it would
I purchased this tortilla maker because I wanted to get 12" tortilla's. The product arrived and upon inspection I noticed a plastic collar at the pivot point of the pressure arm was cracked. When I simulated using the pressure arm that collar would bind up and risk further damage. So it was returned. The second one sent to me did not have that problem. I am new at making corn tortillas and maybe what I'm about to say falls into the novice category. After making the Masa, rolled a 2" ball and placed it in the heated product. I pressed down on the handle firmly either the ball of Masa would slip out of the maker or wouldn't press evenly. I reread the instructions several times and nothing accounted for this happening. I then remade the masa into 2" squares. Hoping to prevent the masa from slipping out. This did work however when you press on the handle it spreads the masa so thin that holes form in the tortilla. I visited an authentic mexican restaurant and they said you need to play with the masa dough by adding more water etc... So I have not given up on your product yet. I would advise providing more instructions on making a tortilla with this product.

Nothing good to say
I bought one of these last week. I bought it due to its large size thinking burrito size tortillas. I have had several electric tortilla presses that were very good, still have one that is 8 inch, but wanted bigger tortillas. There are good brands out there but none of them are 12 " But 8" and ten" are fine for tacos or small burritos. It cracked the cheap plastic housing where the arm pushes down on the top hot plate. I returned it and got another on thinking this may have been a fluke. Second one came couple days later. On about 7th tortilla something snapped inside the top hot plate housing. I heard it rattling around, going back and forth every time i opened and closed the lid. I was over it by this point. Knowing that the appliance was cheaply made and would have just broken more. You should not be cringing each time you press a tortilla wondering if this is going to be the one that breaks the appliance designed to make tortillas. It should be an enjoyable process. Wish i could Give it 5 stars but can only give it 1

Roti maker
This works really well.I tried 3 different ones before I was actually able to make it work .One of the tricks is has to have very high watts.I cook it the highest setting. Then the dough should be soft not too firm. This will create bigger and thinner rotis. The only thing is when out puffs up and moves forward , the roti has to be turned manually to get the edges browned to the way I like it.But I love the fact I don’t need a rolling pin and no messy flour over my counter .Can make rotis very quickly and mess free.Dough made simply , no need for oil etc .Just flour and water (any chappti flour I have also made 1/2 -1/2 with barley flour ) and let it sit for about 1/2 hour .

What a great procut
When I finally learned how to use it.A couple of tips:1) make a small ball, 1 to 1 1/2 " in diameter2) place the ball near the hinge area3) press the handle quickly and let up on it until the flattened area puffs upTakes a little practice, but worth it.

Somewhat Okay
I bought it to make roti and funny stuff is as soon my return period expired like on 31st day, It stopped working which was very unfortunate but I am glad that Amazon has great people working for them so they helped me return it and I got the money back. Compared to the money its pricey and the temprature controls arent that good but Its definitely a good thing for a beginner.
