A one-trick centipede, but it's a good trick!
Of course I wanted this thing to be perfect, and it's definitely not. But, still, it's obviously quite useful. The cons to the design are that, while it can hold an incredible amount of weight in the vertical axis, any side-pressure will cause it to wobble at least slightly. This is less pronounced if you have it fully expanded on a level surface. The other primary issue is that the (necessary) cross bracing between the posts can occasionally get in the way of a ripsaw or similarly long hand tool. Oh, and a real annoyance (which others have mentioned) is that, if you've used any real weight on this at full expansion, it can be very hard to get it to close. Maybe there is a trick to this, but, so far, standing it on its side and banging on it like a caveman has been the only method that eventually succeeds for me (btw this makes me glad that I bought the smaller size, the large one would likely be much more difficult to maneuver). Also, the two "holdfast" pegs which are included with this don't seem to do much more than any simple peg might do. The manufacturer should probably increase the size of the holdfast dowels, use thinner, denser foam wrapping, and include four of them if they wanted them to be immediately useful. Still, that is just a quibble. The centipede can "work" without being fully expanded, but that's more of a hack -- leaving it much less stable and not safe for any load you wouldn't be willing to drop on your foot. That means that the distance between work surfaces is more-or-less unchangable. This isn't usually a big deal, but it's something that's easy to do with normal saw-horses and impractical to do with a centipede. The pros are much more obvious. It folds down to the size of a fold-away camping chair. It comes with a (slightly tight, but adequate) case for storage that also has a strap for carrying. It weighs just a few pounds but can support half a ton. The four "X-clips" that come with it are quite a decent way to place 2x4's on top without them moving around much, making good saw horses (with the above limitations). If, like me, you need a quick, additional work surface every once in a while, and then need that thing to fold up and get out of your way all the rest of the time, this centipede tool might be just the ticket.

Solid and great quality. So easy to setup and store.
Sets up in 5 seconds anywhere. Keeps my shop open and that makes it easy to keep clean. Can’t believe how stable it is. My current project is refinishing a couple dressers. There large pieces, lots of moving around on the work surface while sanding and staining etc. and the legs are like a rock. I used 1/2” plywood as a work surface so it is easy to move around the shop and store when finished. Throw the plywood on the legs and you’ve got one solid work bench that helps for a better outcome on your project and easier on your back rather than working from the shop floor. Glad I found this.

I loved it but did have challenges with the plywood sliding ...
My brother, who does a lot of handy work, was helping me and brought his over. Setup was seconds and he just puts an old piece of plywood on top for a surface. I loved it but did have challenges with the plywood sliding off and getting splinters. I purchased one on Amazon, but would caution that I didn't price search and you can buy it for $49 at Home Depot... Still a great table. I also bought a piece of MDF and cut it to 3' x 5', glued 2x4's on the bottom for the braces and sealed it so it won't warp. I also drew lines at the middle and every 3" for guidelines. Pretty impressed with myself as I now have a very sturdy and functional top.

This works really well, it is light and sets up fast. It is also very sturdy. In my opinion it could have come with one more pair of x brackets since you may want a center support based on what is being done and the thickness of the board top being used to prevent sagging. I was able to get a pair on Ebay. Once this unit is not tossed around and mistreated it will last a very long time and it is so easy to transport and store. For a DIYer it is a must and the price is quite good.

Handy, poor hold-downs
Bought at the same time as the 4x8 model. Much less floppy in this smaller size. A very handy small work surface! The hold-downs, as in the larger model, are worthless. They get in the way, go loose if the base flexes (which it will), and often don't hold in the first place. Still a useful product though.

A waste of money
I was excited about this when I saw an ad for it in an online news letter I get. I paced an order through amazon and was in the process of moving so put it back until the move was over. After opening the the package and taking the Centipede out I started to get disappointed after looking at it. I wanted something that would hold a 2x4 piece of Plywood to make a table in a secure manner. It will hold the 2 x 4 plywood but not with the corner blocks just some pressure type clamps not giving me a very good feeling being secure. The other pieces that come with it hold 2x4's for larger pieces to be cut on.It would be easy to have make holders similar to the 2x4 holders to hold the plywood sheet.Over all this is an over priced saw horse of little value save your money and get a couple of the Plastic saw horses they will work as well.

Convenient
A very convenient way of taking a work table to the job (or the bbq)I made up a piece of ply with some bearers to fit it, and it works well. The clamps - not so good, but just about workableDoes not take up much room when in the bag, so easy to store
