NELSON - PEACE OUT - CD

BRILLIANTLY WRITTEN,PHENOMENIALLY AWESOME ROCK ALBUM from NELSON!!!!
Nelson: Gunnar and Matthew Nelson, the twin sons of Ricky Nelson really blew me away with this album! This is a brilliantly written and completely rockin' album. I have enjoyed everything that Nelson has done but this album: PEACE OUT is the best they've ever put out! This is one of the best rock albums to be released in a long time! There's not a bad song on the album! Nelson hooks you from the very first opening Beatlesque vocal of the uptempo and upbeat rocker "Hello Everybody." But Nelson then sweeps you into "Back In The Day" a completely hot rocking jam that reminds one of a cross between Boston and Aerosmith reminiscing of the rocking days of the past. The lyrics of each song are not only fun but infectious...you find yourself singing along without even thinking about it! Keeping the pace jumping and jamming, Nelson sweeps you into #3 "Invincible" which again sounds as if they borrowed a page from Boston but with a harder edge and a character of it's own with flavors of Aerosmith, R.E.O. Speedwagon, and such the like (but don't hold me to any comparisons because their whole sound, full of guitars, lots of melodic lead licks, tons of vocal harmonies, bass licks and solid drums which is just NELSON!!!!)! The recording, production and mastering are excellent (of course what else would expect from Frontiers Records?)! I'm listening to it as I type (third time through in one sitting and it just keeps getting better)! You just gotta get this amazing, fun, rocking, great sounding album!!! It is the best they have ever recorded to date and that's a feat since much of their earlier works are great as well! I could go on and on about each song but you owe it to yourself to listen to this brilliantly written album!

Great songs and performance -a little lite on recording quality.
OK. I think this is probably Nelsons best album. There is no way they will have a hit single on the radio with this but these are their best songs ever. Now I must make this one statement - I buy quite a few of the AOR CDs being cranked out around Europe and domestically and I think I have accepted the lower recording quality. Most of these CDs are being in one man home studios on a computer. Given this situation, the songs suffer when it comes to pristine recording. I can't imagine how good these songs would sound if recorded by professionally trainer engineers and producers. There, I got that off my chest. I would still recommend this CD (and many, many others - Eclipse anyone) to anyone wo loved the 80s.I will buy all this good stuff because it is just good enough to ignore its weakness. The songs are strong, the performance is passionate and sincere and the recording skills are just enough.

If you liked the "After the Rain" album in the 90's, do not hesitate
This is a fantastic album. Remember when music was about fun? The lyrics in this album are positive, uplifting, and at times funny. What a refreshing change. Peace Out is, if anything, a harder-rock album than their 90's material. So don't be afraid that they mellowed out over time. This is a hard-rocking album, and in my opinion, Nelson never sounded better. In all honesty, I didn't know what to make of the first track (Hello Everybody) the first time I heard it. Now, it is one of my favorite tracks. This album is about being light-hearted and fun. It succeeds enormously. This album deserves to go gold or platinum.

I bought this for the Artwork ;o)
So, I recently bot their 1sr record (Vinyl) cuz it was great...and since this is their last record, I decided to buy this too. First Listen, Last listen. Ok, so decades went by these guys put out a few recordings, but nothing really compared to their first. This doesn't either. A few good songs but nothing to write home about. As for the Artwork, she flipping you off in the insert...good way to go out!

Fair album coming off of "lightning strikes twice".
Solid effort by the Nelson Brothers. I've seen them several times live now. This album though reminds me of that transition from the "After the rain" album to "Because they can". "Lighting strikes twice" is to me their modern After the rain, and this album gives me the same vibes as "Because they Can". Although not as much of a change as the early transiton, this album doesn't have one good song that stands out to me on it, an doesn't have me huming or singing along like " Lightning Strikes twice". That being said, still a good show of their skills and talent. hope to continue to hear more from these guys, and hope to catch them on tour.

Great finale, Nelson!
An excellent way for the brothers Nelson to close out their rock careers. Faves are "Back in the Day" "Wanna Stay Home" "Invincible" and "Rockstar". "Hello" is typical Nelson, with a rare appearance by Gunnar on drums. (He does drums for the album; but on this song he shows his stuff)This album is a keeper for any fan of 80's rock.

Great Album!
I bought this album without hearing a single song on it first which is unusual for me as I like to hear at least two or three songs off the album before I purchase it. But since it was Nelson, I felt I could buy it and not be disappointed. I wasn't. I liked every song on this album instantly. This album rocks.

Rockstar and Hello Everybody being up there with the best of their back catalogue
As usual with Nelson this is a bit hit and miss. When they get it right , they do so spectactualy with tracks such as Autograph, Rockstar and Hello Everybody being up there with the best of their back catalogue. Trouble is there are too many filler tracks which sound like rejects from previous albums.

Excellent !

Not as good a Lightning Strikes Twice but still a very solid melodic rocking Nelson release.

Instant Classic `70's/'80's Melodic Rock from Nelson
Peace Out by Nelson is an instant classic! You want guitar - you got it! Nelson have three guitarists, and a bassist! You want vocals - you got it! All three guitarists and the bassist sing! It is released on Monday 18th May 2015. It is melodic-rock with both `70's and `80's influences. The album-cover art-work is very sexy! The lead and harmony vocals are great. The rhythm, lead and harmony guitars are great. There is a lot of great drumming and percussion. The album has a party atmosphere, is celebratory, positive, and is sung and played with commitment. It is catchy, rocky, punky, high-energy, high-tempo, mid-tempo, and has ballads. All songs have choruses, harmony vocals, and lead-guitar. There are twelve songs, with shortest being 3.11, and the longest 5.52. A lot of thought has gone into both the music and lyrics. The production is very "live", being both raw and refined. Hello Everybody is high-energy, punky and rocky, and is a perfect introductory-song. Invincible is up-tempo, with great guitar. On The Bright Side is a rock-ballad. Rockstar is a rocker, and the single. You and Me has a great groove, with a Hendrix-vibe, and relates to the album-cover art-work. Bad For You is out-standing, and an instant-classic, beginning and ending as an emotive ballad with the melody played on lead-guitar. Leave The Light on for Me is a great `70's-style rock-ballad, and is a perfect way with which to finish the album. Nelson are to be congratulated for presenting something different from the norm in terms of the production. It is both a brave, and artistic, decision. This album sounds as if it would be a great experience to hear played live-in-concert by Nelson. I hope to see, and hear, Nelson on tour! "Peace Out" means "Goodbye", and this is stated to be the last album by Nelson.I received the Amazon Auto-Rip on Sunday 17th May 2015 - thanks Amazon! Award 5 Stars!

Nelson!
他にもサビが印象的な"I Wanna Stay Home"やロックバラード"On The Bright Side"、ポップロックな"Rockstar"あたりが私のツボです!
