READ THIS - SAVE TIME AND MONEY
There's a lot of people with gouged drums on here, myself included. The reviews are confusing and don't accurately explain the issue. The adjuster cable is not too long. The adjustment lever was not manufactured incorrectly. I checked out every parts house in town and compared to this kit the parts are identical. The cable guide needs to be fully pushed into the brake shoe and held flush while you insert the white spring, that's it. No more gouged drums and the lever will engage with the screw and function correctly

One of the most complete kits I have seen far rear brakes.
Worked great for my 1995 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Had a noise coming from right rear brake, and brakes were dragging, so when I replaced the shoes, I replaced the hardware. This kit had almost every hardware part for both sides. I had a broken spring on the bottom that holds the shoes together. The kit had new springs that were perfect. I did not use the new adjuster tabs, as they were shaped different from my old ones, (they might be exact for other models). That was no problem, the old ones are made of strong metal and were still good. I would recommend this for anyone that has a vehicle over 10 years old and needs rear shoes replaced.

98 Jeep XJ. Mostly good.
Works good for the 98 XJ. Dana35 rear. One main issue. The yellow springs that come with this kit, for that horizontal bar (where 1 spring is used on 1 side of the bar). That spring is far too thick. Even compressed all the way, you will not be able to get the shoes to line up right. Either cut a few turns off that spring, or use the old original spring that is there. Took me a while to figure out why I couldn't "do drum breaks" after 40yrs.... annoying... but.. found out. Otherwise, good kit.

BE AWARE, ONE wrong component for Jeep TJ application
I’ll begin by saying this kit was ordered for installation on a 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ with ABS and rear drums on a Dana 35 axle. It was shown to be compatible with my Jeep both by Amazon and the companies website. *BE AWARE* - As at least one other review has stated, the self-adjusting lever is too big for this particular vehicle application and upon installation I found it to be making contact with my brand new drums and therefore was removed. As shown in the picture, I ordered and ultimately installed Rugged Ridge part#: 16752.18 (the correct lever!!). As shown in another photo, the one included with this kit IS in fact larger than the correct fitting part, it extended approximately a quarter of an inch too far into the drum. Other than that, I found all of the other hardware to be both correct, made well and are functioning as they should. It included everything you need to re-build your drum brakes, both sides, and installed equal to OEM with that one exception. Because this incorrect component nearly damaged my other new parts and also because I had to spend additional money ordering the correct replacement lever, I have deducted two stars on their review.

Do it - Your Jeep TJ will appreciate the new parts
I was thinking I didn't need a kit, mine would be fine. But I bought just in case. I did really need it, and this was great. I worried a bit in that there was review that noted the parts were not the same quality as the OEM. However, they were great, in fact I felt they were as good or better than the original. I also saw in the reviews there was one part that was a bit larger than the original and could hurt the drum. With that info and the work of a small grinder, and I was set. This was a great kit, I would for certain do this again. This went on a 2006 Jeep TJ X.
