An response to the question "Why is the split end so short?".
For those who do not understand why the length of the Y split is so short, this cable is great for connecting things like radios and cell phones to sound mixing boards or a portable stereo recorders. In this case, I am taking the audio from another device and feeding it into the microphone/line inputs on a portable recorder. It could also be used in reverse where two mono audio sources are combined into a single stereo input jack. The "Y" split is short, since the 1/4" jacks where the cable plugs in are side by side on this type of equipment.If you are looking to connect a device like a laptop or phone to separate stand alone powered speakers, then this cable will obviously need an extra 1/4" extension cable on one (or possibly both) of the 1/4" jack end to cover the extra distance between the speakers. You could find a splitter cable where the split is closer to the 1/8" end of the jack, but then you will essentially always have two cables running up to the device. Using this cable along with another 1/4" extension cable, the bulk of the cables after the split can be permanently stored behind one of the speakers. You would then have a single small cable running up to your device, resulting in less weight and clutter in the areas around the device and a generally cleaner looking solution that is easier to handle long term.This cable just arrived here last night. It looks and feels good in the hand, and a quick test shows the sound is working as expected, but I have not had it long enough to know how well it will stand up over time.

I am extremely pleased with this cable set! VERY well-made and highly robust in construction.The cables are very pliable and braided, vastly reducing the possibility of cracking or other damage.Ends are copper coated and secure when attached.My use of this Y-Cable is for connecting my Rode Rodecaster mixer to my Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro ISO switcher. Perfect for use in my live streaming and video production studio. Two years Strong
The media could not be loaded. Have a couple pair for about two years very durable no hum no static. This is the reason I am ordering another pair.

Expensive!
The purpose is to connect a laptop to a mixer for music. Good quality connector and very flexible cable , but it did not reject the hum. I will have to troubleshoot somewhere else.
