Fun, functional toothbrushing timer
As I get older, I get more fearful of the day my teeth will fall out of my head. So after my dentist informed me that I should be brushing my teeth twice a day for no less than two minutes each session, I decided to get a timer to ensure I am following his instructions precisely. I could just use the timer on my phone, but I don't like to set my phone near the sink while water is running. This timer was relatively cheap for its purpose, and I'm not afraid of dropping it in the sink or getting toothpaste near it if I have an errant expectoration issue.Sometimes if I turn it too far past the 2 it won't start, but all it takes is a little nudge to get it on its way. I imagine if you have kids this would be a great timer for them to use as well. Easy for small hands to start, and the noise makes it obvious when your two minutes are up.

Twooth Timer
The first one we received was defective; it rattled when we opened the package and would only tick a couple of times when it was turned. The replacement works great. It has made ensuring that brushing for our 6 year old granddaughter is long enough. I can hear it tick and the bell ring when it is done. She loves it and it is very easy for her to use by herself, once I showed her the correct way to turn the top. While it is a bit expensive for a two minute, mechanical timer, the tooth shape is cute for little ones.I don't know how long it will last, but she's gotten a good couple of months use, up to three times a day, out of it.

Great product when it works
Great idea and design, easy for kids to use and nice that no batteries are required. None of that matters if it doesn't work though. We've had it 2 weeks and it just stopped working. Bummer. Kids really like it.Follow up:Antoinette from Twoothtimer also agreed to send me a new timer. Thank you Antoinette for your very prompt response! Will keep you posted as to how the new one works.Laura Hesley

Love it
This is just the cutest 2 minute timer for brushing teeth reminders. I just got it today, and I can't wait for my daughter to use it, since she always says she brushed her teeth well, when I am sure it wasn't 2 minutes. The timer works well. I hope it lasts.UPDATE: at first my daughter was amazed at the shape and the 'tik tik tik tik' noise this makes. After the excitement is is over, it works for what it is supposed to do. It reminds how long she is supposed to be brushing. Now she is so used to it and uses it on her own without a problem. I am glad I got this timer. This is a cute item that is important for my daughter.

Buy this if you want it to break within a year.
Adorable timer--the kids loved it. I loved it. But it isn't built to last, which is pretty unfortunate considering a wind-up timer really shouldn't be so difficult to manufacture in a way that will last. Apparently mine lasted longer than most--about a year, maybe a bit more. There were plenty of times it would stick or slightly malfunction.... and then finally it bit the dust. I'm just not happy having shelled out $10 for a glorified egg timer. I wanted it for how appropriate it was (we only used it for teeth brushing and potty timing before bedtime for our now 4-year-old), but perhaps I should just get a regular kitchen timer. Those things tend to last forever.

the screw that attaches the top part from the bottom part was off!
i had to fix the tooth timer since when i opened it, it came with a tiny little screw off! Fortunately i screw it back in place and the timer worked fine. Now i know why it was so cheap! I am not sending it back; but it was not fun to receive an item in such condition.

Use it all the time
We use this teeth timer everyday. It took some trial and error to find one that didn't break in the first 3 days and was easy for little kids to use. This one works pretty well you just have to make sure they don't cheat the timer down. It took my 4 kids almost a year to break the first on we had. Since we use it everyday I thought that lasted a long time, way longer than I thought it would!

Such a cute idea, but went through two of them in less than a year
I love the idea of this timer, and so did my children. It helped them really enjoy the idea of brushing for 2 minutes. Unfortunately, our first one lasted only 2 months. I contacted the company, and they replaced it free of charge, which was great. The replacement was good at first, but stopped working just a few months later. Both times, the timers just stopped ticking. Really disappointed, as I think this is a wonderful idea and my kids loved it...but it seems there are some quality issues to sort out.
