The Big Book of Homemade Products for Your Skin Health and Home by Jan Berry
I am and always have been a really big book lover! I prefer books where I can turn the pages and keep in hand. It makes me stop and sit, read and relax! Down time, learning at the same time. This book is a soft paperback with 151 recipes. Jan Berry is actually the founder of the Blog The Nerdy Farm Wife. This book is full of beautiful pictures, the paper is nice and thicker than normal, the print is black on white and easy to read, most important to me.The recipes are in grams and also US cups drops etc.Great directions, and a description of each recipe, which is great! She is very detailed with each recipe. The book opens nicely and lays pretty flat for viewing and making the recipes. You can use a scale or not. There is a resource list in the back of the book.I sure hope this review was helpful to you, I want to try and make some of my own things with less chemicals in them. There also is a great Index page in the back for looking up any recipe by name you want to try. A keeper for sure, so worth buying this one! Have fun! Thanks for reading!

Excellent book
I’m very happy with this book. I’ve tried a couple of recipes so far and am planning to try soap for the first time very soon. I actually downloaded an e-book from this author many years ago and forgot about it until I got this book and realized it was the same author. I had never infused oils with herbs before reading this book. I have tried the quick method and the long method and will be using the oils from the long method in my soap. If you like to make your own products this is a very good book.

For the “use at home” DIY enthusiast
This book isn’t bad, it just isn’t what I was looking for. So it’s a little hard to rate it. This book has a lot of info and is wonderful for someone who likes to make products to use at home with readily available ingredients found mostly at your local grocery store. I was looking for something that teaches how to formulate cosmetics and skincare with more ingredients that aren’t found at your local grocery stores. I guess I was looking for something that teaches more about chemicals and preservatives. And the fundamentals of formulating with those ingredients that offer a more shelf stable product. The chemistry of everything.

So many good things to make.
I love all of the products that this book has in it to make. I’ve only done a facial cleanser and a laundry detergent, but they work amazing and I immediately notice and feel a difference in my things when I get to make them by myself. if you wanna start making Cleaning products and skin care products this book has it and it’s amazing.

Beautiful and practical
She does a great job teaching and giving alternative options. My neighbor gifted me salves she made from the book, which worked great (yarrow plantain heel). So I purchased the book to make my own.
