Ruby Luna's Curious Journey: A girls' anatomy book covering puberty and periods (Ruby Luna's Books)

I love this book! It was perfect for my daughter (she’s 9 nearly 10)! We read through it together and she thought it was great. I think it was just the right level for her age as although she’d covered a few things at school there were definitely some things she learnt. She loved all the questions and actions on each page as it made it really interactive. Plus she asked lots of questions and it was easy to explain with all the pictures. I wish there had been something similar when I was younger! It made it so much easier to chat about. My hubby and I looked through it prior to showing her it and we both said there was nothing like that when we were kids. I’m also planning to keep it to show my son when he’s a bit older as I think it’s important he learns about the female body too. I just wish there was something similar for boys!

After checking out all the good reviews i purchased this book and was hugely dissapointed. Thick book with little writing.Some of the writing in book is aimed at much younger child e.g. wave hello, give me thumbs up. My 9 year old was instinctively put off at being talked to like a preschooler.Then indepth in some areas and then little or no information on others. Wanted a modern book to talk about changes of puperty and had high hopes for this book etc. Would not recommend.

What a totally fabulous book. I've never seen anything like it before. It's the perfect way to empower a young girl with all the information and understanding she needs about her body. The illustrations are so beautiful - really true and real, but also very approachable. The whole thing is brilliant - I've bought one for my daughter as well as several to give to her friends as presents. Highly recommend!

This book was absolutely terrible. I bought it for my 8 year old daughter because she is going through early puberty and it said it was for younger children. The pictures were awful, the terminology was not aimed at younger children. It completely missed out orgasms, which should surely be something worth a mention, especially for tweens and younger that may wonder what these strange feelings are!!! I didn't like the names for periods they were really unpleasant!!!Don't buy it, it's garbage!!!!

This is a fabulous book for your children, I absolutely love it! The pictures are lovely and simply and demystify the female body in a very clever way.

I was so excited to buy this book. I gave it to my daughter as soon as we got it and she loved the pictures and was giggling and curious and I'm looking forward to discussing it all with her and using your book will be such a help. Thank you xxThis book is beautifully illustrated and easy to read. My daughter is 7 and she has really enjoyed looking through it. I can see it will be a book we come back to time and time again. I feel so strongly that it is important to use the correct terminology and to be able to talk honestly and answer curious questions. My 9 year old son will also be looking at it and I am sure many questions will come out of it for him too. Tessa you need to do a boys anatomy one too!I will be recommending this to all of my friends with children. So put it in your basket and buy it!

Just love this book!Love how Tessa has written it to suit different ages of children, this is exactly what is needed in the world.Not only will this book help girls understand their bodies and how they change, it also helps adults.There is lots in the book I wasn’t taught about when I was a young girl but so wish I had. As some one who went through puberty at a young age, this book would of really helped me.This will be great to share in schools.It’s fun and colourful.What a utterly wonderful book.

I bought this for my daughter and was really impressed with how openly, sensitively and beautifully the book approaches a woman's body. The drawings are a wonderful mix of being anatomically correct, without being clinical or textbook like.The descriptions are easy for a young girl to understand and will really help her to get to grips with her body and the changes it is undergoing in a natural, non-judgemental way. Things aren't dressed up or down - they just are.This is definitely a fantastic tool to help with what can be a difficult transition. I can't recommend it highly enough and am looking forward to now purchasing Ruby Luna's Moontime as my daughter is a little bit older and approaching menarche.
