Q: How well do these fit/grip thin metal frames? Do they float well?

Tight fit great floaters highly recommended

Q: Do you have to slide them all the way up to the frames or will they stay on if you only go as far as the rounded part of the ear piece?

We only have ours on about the first quarter inch of the ear piece. That works fine if the ear piece is larger than the rest of the frame.

Q: Do they fit snuggly on oakleys? and do they indeed float with the sunglasses attached?

I've never owned Oakleys but I assume the ear piece is basic design. They do indeed float. The red cord has foam on the inside plus the black ring is about the size of a key fob but more round. The black ring sinches the glasses snuggly to the head as well. We have owned ours for 7 years now.

Q: Do these (this model) of croakies float sunglasses?

This version of Croakies does float sunglasses, I will causation that if they get hit by waves in the ocean, the sleeve may opo off, so be quick to retrieve them.
