The MILANIX portable TV works well on my patio
INTRODUCTION: I wanted a portable battery powered TV that I could place on a table on my patio so that I could watch TV and other media. I decided to give the MILANIX TV a try. I put it on a table and view it from two or three feet away so the 14-inch size works well. Overall, I am pleased with it but wish it had better picture quality.TV RECEPTION: A nice telescoping antenna came in the package. This antenna works fairly well, but because of the fragile nature of off-the-air digital TV, it is not very satisfactory. This is not a bad reflection of the MILANIX TV because all DTV sets have the same issue. When I connected it to a Channel Master STEALTHtenna antenna placed on top of a cabinet on the patio, most of the 69 off-the-air channels in my area were received. The signal strength meter helped to align the antenna. The tuner operation of the MILANIX set is better than that of most of the big screen TVs of today. A serious flaw in many TV’s is that a channel only works if it is found when the TV scans for channels. Even if you know what the broadcast channel is, these TVs won’t receive the channel if you tune to that broadcast channel. For example, Channel 4 in this area is actually broadcasting on channel 21. The MILANIX TV does receive channel 4 when I tune to channel 21 using the remote. Neither a 32-inch SONY nor a 49-inch Toshiba set that I have will do this. This is important because of the fragile nature of off-the-air DTV. Scanning for channels on a poor antenna will not pick up all of the stations available and moving the antenna and rescanning will produce a different set of channels. If you could tune the TV to a broadcast channel and move the antenna around, you could find a spot where that station is received. As far as I can tell, most TV sets on the market today do not allow this to be done. The MILANIX programmers did a good job of implementing the Electronic Program Guide (EPG) which displays upcoming programs for several hours ahead. The SONY TV that I have does not have an EPG at all. The Toshiba TV that I have only displays the current program and the next program coming up.MEDIA PLAYER: The only media that I have played are mp4 videos on a FLASH drive. This worked as expected and fast forward and reverse was available.SMART TV: I plugged an Amazon Fire TV stick into the HDMI jack and got the power to run it from the USB port on the TV. This worked as expected and made the TV set into a smart TV.OTHER FEATURES: The set has AV-IN and AV-OUT jacks and a VGA input jack. I have not tested any of these. I tested the FM radio feature. It works by scanning for stations. A desired station can be selected from the remote using the channel number of that station. It has an interesting TTS voice prompt feature and several other features I have not explored or addressed here.PICTURE QUALITY: The screen resolution is 1280 x 800 which is a little better than most 32-inch HDTVs whose resolution is typically 1280 x 720. But TV picture quality is not as good as I am used to seeing on other devices. White faces tend to bloom and loose detail. I experimented with user settings and was able to make it look better than any of the presets. Picture quality from the Fire TV Stick connected via HDMI is better than that of either off-the-air or Media Player signals.AUDIO QUALITY: The audio quality is about as good as can be expected from the two speakers that are small enough to fit inside this thin device. It is adequate for programs that do not have deep bass in the audio.TV STAND: A nice stand is included in the package that allows the TV to be pivoted to a good viewing angle. This stand can be set on a table or screwed to a wall.

It's a good purchase and must have for any household!!
I have had many portable rechargeable TV's over the years for when the power goes out and I would recommend this one. TV has a good quality picture and generally good reception ( weather can affect the reception, extremely "High winds" have been the only time noticeable but still maintains most channels). These types of TV's have been a lifesaver during power outages for our family! This is our first LED flat screen portable and we all love it? We still have 2 older models that we keep charged and the kids use them in the tents, at the Beach, and camping? Our one son took one on a road trip to watch while in the back seat( had to rescan after entering different states due to station frequencies.) I Recommend it as a "Gift" for any older parent, grandparent but is a great gift for anyone!! NO, I don't work for any electronics Co's, I just love the rechargeable TV... LOL

IT wont sync with a fire stick and customer support cannot identify a IR number for remote
Picture quality set on VIVID is actually good. The sound is typical from a small tv. I would say a big thanks to one other review on here in order to show how to plug the fire stick back in to the TV for the sticks power versus having to plug into a 110 outlet. Also the unit has a built in stand that pops out as well as comes with a mounting stand. The mount is actually good and can be screwed into wall or cabinet for pivoting and angling. The biggest drawback is that the tv is not listed on any TV lists so that you can get the IR number to sync the firestick remote to it. You are stuck using 2 remotes. Dont lose the remote they give you as a universal wont work since you cant identify the IR code. Amazon customer assistance was of no help and they do not have a contact number for the manufacturer of the tv for assistance. I would say for 100.00 its a throw away tv when it dies. The built in battery is great versus other 12 volt tvs that dont have a battery.

Lasted less than a year.
As a lower price you know it's not going to last forever but I was hoping for at least a year. Got it in February 2020 to use in my salon. Considering we were shut down for 3 months due to covid and it just sat there. It only lasted 9 months. Now the screen won't turn out, just flicks colors.

Great little TV but no Remote 2nd review
I purchased it for hurricane season to have a way to see the news/weather if the power goes out. I have lived through many hurricanes where we lost power for days and a radio just doesn't do it for me. (I'm old) I am disappointed in the battery life, I expected more than two hours. It did come with a car adapter so if we loose power again (and we will-in SW FL) I can plug it into a generator or the car. Size is great, sound OK, Picture if better than expected, Antenna is garbage (fixed by a trip to walmart or BestBuy). I am glad I made the purchase.UPDATE ONE YEAR.As this is only for hurricane season I have only used it to test it for hurricane season. It seems to be a great little TV for the purpose, HOWEVER it is a real pain to use without a remote which it did not come with. I have tried on line, and several stores and no one seems to have a remote that works with this off brand TV or has codes to program a universal one. Three stars for picture quality of TV, -2 stars for lack of remote. PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO GET A REMOTE AND I WILL RETURN THE REVIEW TO A 5 STAR. Quid pro quo
