101 Ways to be a Long-Distance Super-Dad ...or Mom, Too!

In our mobile society, we deal with more and more move-away cases every year. As if it wasn't complicated enough, the law differs from state to state and changes all the time within each state. This little book is a terrific starting place for trying to figure out how to stay close with your children even though they may be miles away. Thankfully, we have technology to help us out with move-aways and long distance parenting, and while that's never Plan A, it certainly makes things easier. I've been a divorce professional (litigation attorney and now a full time mediator) for 22 years and this issue is, was, and always has been very tough. But if you're forced to be a long distance parent, then this book is a great starting place.

I bought this book for my husband. We live a few hours away from his kids from his first marriage, and he only gets to see them a couple weekends a month. He was really excited about the ideas in this book. Now he has ideas on how to stay connected to his kids when they can't be together physically. I hope by having this time in between visitation, he and his kids will be able to grow closer and develop special relationships. In a way, I can see how long-distance dads could form closer relationships than some dads who are in their kids lives every day using some of the ideas from this book.

I was already doing a lot of these things, but it added some new insights and ways to embellish. It was good validation for things I felt were helpful.

Good book although some of the ideas are outdated or basic however just 1 or 2 ideas makes a book like this well worth the purchase.

Working with deployed military members or divorced parents whose children are often away from them can be challenging. This book is a great resource for ways to stay connected when apart.Also good for long distance grand-parenting, etc.
