A high quality vegan protein supplement
I work out in a gym four times a week. So, it's important for me to supply my body with an appropriate amount of protein each day to help build and maintain my muscle mass. I like to vary the source of my protein. As I get older I'm starting to reduce my reliance on meat protein (this is for health, as well as environmental reasons). Anyway, that's why I was interested in trying this plant-based protein formula from Maximuscle. This supplement is mainly made up of pea protein (72.6%) and brown rice protein (13%). Additionally, it contains: reduced fat cocoa powder, chicory root fibre, coconut milk powder, natural flavourings, iron and Vitamin B12. As with most protein powders, this one is sweetened with sucrose. Its easy enough to prepare: just mix 3 level scoops with 200 - 250ml of water, do this in a protein shaker, or in a blender. You'll end up with a drink that's the consistency of a milkshake. Given the ingredients, I was surprised at how tasty this protein drink actually was. It's worth mentioning that there are cheaper vegan protein supplements out there, but the ones I've checked out tend to compromise on the quality, they often 'pad out' their mixes with sunflower oil, glucose syrup, modified starch (a thickening agent with no nutritional value) and artificial flavourings etc. In many respects, you get what you pay for. A pack of Plant Max contains 16 daily servings, which presently works out at less than £1 per day. That equates to much less than half the price of a take-out cup of coffee - and that's not a bad deal as far as I'm concerned. No stomach ache 🙂
This is the only protein powder that I can use that doesn’t give me stomach ache. Whey doesn’t agree with me and I have tried many different powders. So pleased to eventually find one that suits my gut as I suffer with IBS. The flavour is quite pleasant and doesn’t give that horrible sweet aftertaste. Works well in protein muffins.

great taste But little pricey though & needs 1kg bag
I tried about 5 or more vegan plant base protein powder and this is my favourite so far its free from soya and stevia. I haven’t had Any digestion or bloating troubles with this one which is good and also the chocolate one tastes really nice and is quite creamy taste and texture. Also mixes really well no issues good powder. It just a little pricey than others and it would be great if they did it in 1kg bag for around £25 price range like some others?

Very powdery and funny tasting
Compared to other maxi muscle products I have used (which are usually really smooth and great tasting) this was a rather sour alternative. I got them for my girlfriend as she cant have lactose and hence cant use my usual whey proteins. While the nutritional benefits are still there and effective as with other products I've used from max muscle, this was powdery, didn't shake well into a drink, and rather just ended up like drinking thin porridge. The taste was also pretty nasty and didn't make it any more palatable. Would only use in a pinch. Avoid if other options are available.

Makes your stomach turn
The packaging proudly states that the product is free from artificial flavourings, and yet there it is in the ingredients list - the ARTIFICIAL sweetener sucralose! Sucralose is made in an industrial process, it's not a natural product. Within minutes I was gassy and next morning I hope is never repeated!!! It’s smells so artificial and tastes terrible too.

Tastes good, easy to make and great nutrition
I really like this powder easy to use and tastes great. I make it with mainly just water, I add a bit of oat milk to make it extra creamy. The key is to make sure it's really cold so I add some ice and stick it in the blender.I just do basic strength training and swimming. This is a great way to add more protein into a vegan diet or a flexible diet as I do. Very minimal ingredients as well.

So unbelievably disgusting
I really wanted to like this product as I have previously got the maxi muscle whey. This however tastes awful but more troublesome is that it seems to adhere to your throat and you have to chase it with several gargle rounds of fresh water after to try and wash it away! Gonna have to go back to they whey.
