Rechargeable Replacement Battery Pack For Nintendo DS Lite

My Nintendo DS Lite is alive again! Woo-hoo. This item is perfect and works well as advertised. It's funny because I took my DS to a local Gamestop retailer and I was advised that my DS was basically goner and there is no possibility of replacing the battery. Luckily my fiance is Tech Savvy and talked me into purchasing this replacement battery pack. Best thing I've done! I've recently purchased the Nintendo 3DS XL as a replacement thinking my DS lite was completely done for. This DS lite is now in the care of my sister who is enjoying her mint condition DS lite with new batteries :)

Fit good, worked well. Screwdriver is terrible. Initially held a charge pretty well but only lasted about 2.5 years of light use. Much worse than the OEM batteries longevity.

I've had my DS Lite since the unit was released, and my daughter and I have logged many hours on it. When it stopped holding a charge, I realized that I really didn't want to have to replace the whole unit--I like the GameBoy Advance slot in the front, and the new body style doesn't have this. Enter the perfect, cheap, renewable energy source: this replacement battery pack. For just a few dollars, we're back on our feet and playing away. It arrived simply packaged, with the tiny tool for undoing the screw on the DS Lite's battery panel, and within about 2 minutes we were done and on the charger. A great way to bring your DS back from the dead. UPDATE: I bought this battery from Amazon in July 2009. The vendor assigned to provide it to me was BlueMall and they did a fine job with shipping--it's just the battery and screwdriver in a baggie, really, put in a padded envelope as I recall. It's now been almost two years and the last year or so has seen my daughter use the DS just about any chance she gets thanks to her discovery of the Pokemon games. She'll do long multi-hour sessions or take it with her in the car and leave the lid closed if she doesn't have time to save. The battery still seems to be holding up just fine. We periodically run it flat and then do an overnight charge. I know that typically helps for laptops, so maybe that's a good idea with the DS, too...

When I put in the battery and went to charge it, my charging light blinked twice and nothing. Dead, completely. I took my boyfriend's DS Lite and tried his battery in my DS Lite. Worked perfectly. The average rating is 4 stars, so I'm guessing that everyone else's battery was working and I was unlucky and got a dud. :/

I bought this battery hoping to give new life to my dead DS Lite. It turns out that the battery was not the issue, but the battery sent works well with my other DS so it's not at fault. My only issue is with the little screwdriver they send with the battery. It almost completely ruined the head of the screw. I had to use a knife to undo the screw. The screwdriver is a piece of junk. I recommend using a knife or an eyeglass screwdriver instead. The battery works well though.

Battery works so far with no issues, but definitely does not feel like a high quality product. It's clearly a generic rectangular battery with a flimsy plastic housing and a label sticker. I have not had time to really test the battery life, but I would not be surprised to find that it isn't quite as high as advertised. All that said, this battery works fine so far and is a good option if you're just looking for a cheap replacement.

Daughter's Nintendo DS Lite was no longer holding a charge, and was unable to find a replacement battery in my area. Found this battery at Amazon at a cheap price compared to the official Nintendo battery replacement. Easy to install, and comes with screwdriver to open battery cover to access the old battery. New battery charges well and holds charge for a continuous amount of playing my daughter does for a couple of days, which works well and to my daughter's satisfaction. Have used this battery now for a few months with no issues. Pleased with purchase.

Got it in the mail. Replaced my old battery and charged my DS for about an hour. Came to find out it hadn't charged at all. The light that indicates it's charging would come on for a second, then cut off. Not sure if it is a faulty battery, or if it's just the whole product. Either way, wasn't happy.
