Rechargeable Replacement Battery Pack For Nintendo DS Lite

We have had a DS Lite for a while, and recently it stopped holding a charge. This battery seemed like a reasonable solution to our problem. It installed easily, shipped promptly, and holds charge without any problem. If you need a replacement battery for a DS Lite you won't be unhappy with this purchase. It comes with a small screwdriver to help remove and reseal the battery cover. The entire process took only a minute or two and the DS Lite was back up and running. This battery looks very similar to the old DS Lite battery, but had more English writing on it.

My Nintendo DS Lite is alive again! Woo-hoo. This item is perfect and works well as advertised. It's funny because I took my DS to a local Gamestop retailer and I was advised that my DS was basically goner and there is no possibility of replacing the battery. Luckily my fiance is Tech Savvy and talked me into purchasing this replacement battery pack. Best thing I've done! I've recently purchased the Nintendo 3DS XL as a replacement thinking my DS lite was completely done for. This DS lite is now in the care of my sister who is enjoying her mint condition DS lite with new batteries :)

I bought this battery hoping to give new life to my dead DS Lite. It turns out that the battery was not the issue, but the battery sent works well with my other DS so it's not at fault. My only issue is with the little screwdriver they send with the battery. It almost completely ruined the head of the screw. I had to use a knife to undo the screw. The screwdriver is a piece of junk. I recommend using a knife or an eyeglass screwdriver instead. The battery works well though.

I've had my DS Lite since the unit was released, and my daughter and I have logged many hours on it. When it stopped holding a charge, I realized that I really didn't want to have to replace the whole unit--I like the GameBoy Advance slot in the front, and the new body style doesn't have this. The vendor assigned to provide it to me was BlueMall and they did a fine job with shipping--it's just the battery and screwdriver in a baggie, really, put in a padded envelope as I recall. It's now been almost two years and the last year or so has seen my daughter use the DS just about any chance she gets thanks to her discovery of the Pokemon games. She'll do long multi-hour sessions or take it with her in the car and leave the lid closed if she doesn't have time to save. The battery still seems to be holding up just fine. We periodically run it flat and then do an overnight charge. I know that typically helps for laptops, so maybe that's a good idea with the DS, too...

Running time of battery is less than 25% of original I got the battery, installed it in the NDS, and charged it. After about 2.5 hours, the charge showed complete (light was off). I powered it up on just clock / date screen (I didn't start a game), just to see how long the battery would last. The NDS was already showing low battery within 45 minutes, and it went dead shortly after wards. This is far short of the original, which normally last 4+ hours before turning red (low battery warning).

Replacement battery fits correctly and holds a charge once installed in the DS Lite unit. Was shipped on time and was fairly well packaged for shipping. Pricing was good for the unit and shipping. Would recommend if replacement battery unit is needed for a DS Lite.

Battery works so far with no issues, but definitely does not feel like a high quality product. It's clearly a generic rectangular battery with a flimsy plastic housing and a label sticker. I have not had time to really test the battery life, but I would not be surprised to find that it isn't quite as high as advertised. All that said, this battery works fine so far and is a good option if you're just looking for a cheap replacement.
