Can i use a 7/16 bolt on this clamp instead of the 1/2 bolt

An undersized bolt can be used, but it is important to note that the bolt does not (should not) serve as the primary electrical contact. Make sure your crimped ring lead or lug on the ground wire of your welder makes direct contact with the bare aluminum area of the ground clamp frame. The steel bolt, washers, lock-washer, and nut are only intended to surround that joint and press the copper lug to the aluminum frame, maintaining good electrical contact. If you have any steel between the ground lug and the aluminum frame of the magnetic clamp, it will heat up (just like the part you are welding) and the ground clamp will not perform well (and could have a reduced lifespan).

What's the highest amps your machine has

Has anyone used this on a cnc plasma table? if so does it work well? pros and cons please. thanks

Hello Cameron, I have a fabrication shop and use it for everything, arc, tig and plasma. On a table I would probably make sure to actually attach the ground via the supplied bolt with this product. I only clamp to it. I guess this might only be necessary depending on the amperage of your table. They state 300 amp so really should no be a problem, I wold just say it might do better bolted. Hate to screw up a long run on the table. Hope this helps son. Jack
