Great Grips (They are Dark Tan ~ Light Brown)
Well ... At the time I purchased these scales, the picture was yellow, the description was "green" and what I received was a "sanded tan" product ... Meh ... I purchased them for the functional utility and strength, anyway ... any earth-tone would have been fine and I am perfectly satisfied with what I ended up getting. These are very pricey, to be sure ... KA-BAR should just include them on all the Beckers and pass the "economy of scale" (scales?) cost savings on to us, their valued and faithful customers ... They could sell these, in Micarta, for ~$20 more, instead of $40+ more ... There goes the awesome value ! ... Still ... These scales ROCK !The "wood-like-grain" was not apparent, at the time of un-boxing ... At first, they looked all powdery and sanded and no real grain was immediately apparent ... I noticed that the oil, from my hands, seemed to make it look a bit better so, I retrieved some walnut oil, from my fridge, and slathered these Micarta scales "real good" and wiped them off with a rag, as dry as I could ... NOW they look really cool ... very nice "wood-like" grain and leaning more toward a lighter brown color ... like stained wood with a matte finish and, no, there is no residual wetness or stickyness ... just really nice and purdy. There is no doubt that these grips feel much better (and look WAY better) than those slippery, grivory "pretenders" ... Just wish they din't cost *SO* much ! ... Ka-Bar could help us out, there.Had NO issues whith the factory bolt length ... Applied Blue Loc-Tite and used an Allen Bit from my Leatherman Surge Bit-Kit to crank them down ... under 15 minutes ... DONE !I am proud and happy ... My BK-2 is now rockin', in righteous style ! (and feels like a great knife SHOULD feel).Works, for ME !!

Excellent upgrade
Recieved 2 sets of these scales today along with a set for my BK16. Excellent fit and finish. These scales give the knife the "warmth" of wood feel. After putting the first set on the first of 2 BK2 knives I had my wife hold both the knives, one with micarda scales and the factory original scales. Her immediate respond was that the micarda equipment knife felt warm and grippy vs. cold and slick with the plastic scales. Both knives have seen a lot of service and will probably will see even more that before due to the improve grip and comfort. Just have to order 1 more sets to rescale my original deployment BK 2 knife. Best thing to invest in for the Becker line of full size knives.

Good Looking and Comfortable
A big upgrade from the stock zytel handles, which feel plastic-y and get slippery when wet. These look great, stay nicely grippy when wet, and have a warmer almost woody feel to them. They will naturally darken a bit with wear, but you can also purposely darken them to your liking by oiling them and leaving them in the sun. I'd imagine they'd take dye well too. Mine have naturally darkened to a brown color with use, and I like them better that way. See the photo of them on my modded BK-2. For $35, these are an awesome deal for the price. Interchangeable with most of the larger Becker knives too.

Perfect fit - Beautiful if polished!! Great as-is too!
These Becker fitment Knife scales are better than good... and that is great! The material is tried and tested - and less susceptible to moisture failure and rot like some lesser woods. I have a BK2 that I heavily modified and needed scales that were solid for custom grinding/ shaping as the stock black poly handle, though stout as a bear, has hollow cells that are revealed when grinding too lustily through the face of the scales. I shaped these quickly with a flap wheel grinder to conform to the Becker blade I had customized to be a mirror polish with a drop point and large smooth choil. Subtracting a bit of blade also turns the BK2 classification from edged weapon to tool without losing function. Now I must say, I am pleased at the fact that these synthetic scales look like glossy wood when hit with a 600 grit polishing grinder wheel / oil / wax / wipe. CFK cutlery co. provided the amazingly custom fitting sheath in these pictures... and yes!!! The sheath fits perfectly on this knife too... that is bonus info. Not a bad sheath for about 40 of our finest American dollars! Knife hardware fit perfectly into the holes in the new scales... round on one scale... hexes on other. This knife has gone to an amazingly great plumber and friend of mine. Thanks Green Supply! Check out the photos and be careful, and always use correct practices with knives of any size or kind!!!

Great addition to my BK-2
A really nice upgrade from the stock handles. Better holding grip from the “texture” on these over the stock smooth nylon grips too and they’re also 1 solid piece compared to stock. They almost feel like wood in your hand which to me is a plus. Fit and finish are very nice as you can see. I used a 4mm Allen key (metric on an American knife?) to change the grips. The only trivial issue I found was the nut side grip holes are not as smooth as stock and are a little uncomfortable due to the sharper edges. Easily taken care of… I see these lasting a long time even with rough service.
