OK, I had hoped this would help my in my garden because I have clay and it's very hard to dig in. But, the auger just didn't go down into the clay very much. I do wonder if my 18 V drill was strong enough, but had hoped for better results. Price was good and I went for this one because it had a little extra pointed part on Very end, which should help with puncturing the soil.

I find this auger bit to be very easy to use and a real time-saver for planting bulbs. Note that if you are planting / drilling in an area planted with perennials, you will be going through roots and have to de-tangle and clean off the auger often. Even with this slowing me down, I planted 150 tulip bulbs in an established perennial bed much more quickly and with less back and hand stress than in previous years. Its not "magic" but a very good tool to have!

When my husband said he had ordered this to use for planting our green house tomatoes I thought ehhhh!Could it really make that big of a difference than just digging holes? I was truly amazed at how easy and quick it was to use. We planted over 130 tomato plants in half the time it takes us. this digs the nicest holes. We did figure out it works best if your ground is a little damp, the holes maintain their shape. We just turned our drip tape on a cycle before we got started and it helped. Will definitely be using this again.

no complaints on this auger bit - similar to other ones I have had in the past - pretty much what you see in the ad is what is delivered.

I was surprised at how easy it was to use. My yard is mostly clay, and with the auger I was able to mix my potting soil in a bucket, drill holes in the ground for my plants, and finish in 1/2 the time!
