Easy to used and works well
Looking at it I didn’t realize why it looks the way it does.. but once I got everything put together, made total sense.I got a nice round edge with the router and bit I had - the adapter worked perfectly.

Doesn't work. Don't waste your money. This is not a collet-adaptor - maybe it's a split-bushing?
Do not buy this. It borders on gimmick. A collet adaptor should have multiple slits running most of the way, from each end - as do collets in general, to give flexibility.This, in contrast has only one full slit, running the full length, and a few half-depth slits too, that do very little. It's not flexible enough to bite down on the 1/4" bit in my 1/2" Ridgid router. Sooooo - I still need to buy a 1/2" x 1/4" collet-adaptor. This will be tossed in the scrap steel bin.

Use Caution the first Time. Appears to tighten securely, but does not stay tight.
I could not tighten the collet enough for the insert to tighten to the router bit. When I turned on the router the bit spun out and broke the plastic router guard window. I tried to tighten the collet nut very tight I ended up breaking the nut. Might work for some routers just not nine. It's a Bosch.

Kept me from having to buy a new router.
My 1/2 inch router wouldn't accept 1/4 inch bits until I got this and now I can use both 1/2 and 1/4 bits
