Well worth it.
I have been using this for over 3 years now without any problems to process deer and other meats. I have to give my mixer a rest when we grind meat due to fear of over heating the KitchenAid. A side note: Put the attachments into the freezer for a few hours before your wanting to use it. It helps to keep the temp down and makes the meat move easier.

Worth it
First off, it fits our Cuisinart SM-50 stand mixer. Our model with no following letter wasn't listed. It's a lot of trouble to use. I'd imagine that's true of all meat grinders. You have to cut the meat into cubes before grinding, and they recommend running it through twice. Pushing through the cubes was actually easier than pushing through the coarsely-ground second run. The grinding is slow, but it works. It's not dishwasher safe so it has to be cleaned by hand.Getting ground beef from known cuts of meat, rather than who-knows-what the store used, makes it all worthwhile. We made shoulder roast into 5 pounds of ground beef, and it was the best salisbury steak we've ever had.

Good unit, but not as sturdy as a name brand unit.
Purchased this to make venison burger and sausage. Its not as sturdy as a KitchenAid brand but it did the job. I want to try other things to see how adaptable it is for other items. But for now it was what we needed...

Says it fits all models, but guess what…
Description to product says it fits ALL kitchen aid models. I received mine and not only does it not fit but just by trying to slide it in and play with it for a minute ( ya know, because I thought I was doing something wrong as it fits ALL models) it damaged the metal to the meat grinder. The metal it is made of is super cheap and of not good quality. Do yourself a favor and just opt for the more expensive attachment from kitchen aid itself.

Hard to push meat through
Pockets air makes it difficult to get the meat through. Ended up getting a hand grinder with air escape
