Are these better than raid ribbon?

I have never used Raid ribbon, but I found this product to be very effective in catching houseflies.

Are we supposed to receive the strips already sticky or are they supoosed to be dry and we are supposed to make them sticky?

Small sticky strip with removable paper this to stick to window, and the other side has paper that has to be removed once on window and is very sticky.
