XFMT 14" Black Passenger Sissy Bar For Indian Chief Classic Vintage 2014-2018 Dark Horse 2016-2018

I was a bit skeptical about how good this could be since it is roughly one-third the cost of the "genuine" Indian product, but I figured even if it falls apart or the chrome peels off, I could buy three of these for the cost of the Indian item. Well, although I've only had it one day and have not used it yet (but it is mounted onto my 2016 Chief Vintage), I can say it looks great, is very substantial, and fitted perfectly and easily on my bike. The tan leather matches that of the bike's seat and bags almost perfectly. There were no installation instructions, but it was pretty intuitive (other than having to guess if the longer bolts went into the pad or the luggage rack--it seems they go into the rack). It looks as good as the Indian version, minus the Indian branding of course. For one-third the price (the Indian unit with pad, backrest hardware, and luggage rack--all of which have to be ordered separately--costs nearly $1,000, and this was about $350 or so), the quality seems to be very good. I love my Indian, but they really gouge you on any accessories, so it was a real treat to find this alternative that looks like it belongs on the bike! I recommend it highly to anyone looking for a good backrest/luggage rack without getting ripped of to the tune of $1,000.

I'm not sure who to blame, Amazon or XFMT. I used the Amazon feature to designate my bike, which was a 2017 Chieftain Darkhorse, then pushed the "show accessories" button after I designated my motorcycle. This XFMT sissy bar came up in the first 2 or 3 in the sort order. The fine print says "CHIEF DARKHORSE", not "Chieftain". Well, it doesn't fit the Chieftain, the openings that fit over the mounts on the bike are too small. Very disappointing that they (XFMT) don't sell a sissy bar that is compatible with my bike. All that said, XFMT is allowing me to return the merchandise. Hopefully that goes well.

I recently purchased this product for my 2015 Indian Chief classic. It is a direct knock off of what Indian sells for a grand. Mount bracket, $600.00, padded backrest, $200.00, Luggage rack, another $200.00. That's a grand from Indian. Here with the knock off, it is just lass that a third of that price for all three pieces. A great deal and the quality seems very good both Chrome and leather. It only came in tan color on the leather when I bought it and my ride is all black leather, seat, saddlebags etc. I easily solved this problem with a can of spray leather dye from Sem's (landau black) for just under 20 bucks and it came out beautifully! No problem mounting to my saddlebag mounts. Goes on and off easily with just the flip of the levers and takes just a little longer if you want to lock them on there with screws which I found at Home depot(# 6 metric half inch machine screws) I saved a lot of money here. Very happy with this product!

Identical to the Indian branded rack for 1/3rd the price. Though it says for Chieftan, it fits 2017 Springfield perfectly as they only make one backrest for all the full size Indians.

The product does not fit the brackets on the Indian chief. I had to enlarge the quick connects on the sissy bar itself to make it work. Materials are good just not built to fit. Also had to bend the brackets on the luggage rack to make it slide inside the sissy bar as well. Not sure what the deal is but it was worth the work to save 700 bucks on the Indian sissy bar backrest and storage rack.

Really disappointed in the rubber covering area that is to fit onto the quick release spools on the bike. Lack of quality rubber covering proved to be products downfall.Ypu can see the inconsistency in stitching on the passenger back rest. Poor craftmanship/quality. Anticipated a better product.

As a word of warning to anyone purchasing this item ... Be careful with the decorative studs as they may not be secure. When we received the item it was missing a few of them, and the first ride after tightening the others we lost a couple more. Words of wisdom, a dab of super glue or gorilla glue on them has kept anymore for coming off and being lost. The company did however, send us replacements, but due to their location we did have a lengthy wait to receive them. Our only other complaint would be the visibility of the staples on the back of the padding, they are not completely inconspicuous.

Well for my 2017 chieftain limited, i had to grind out the inserts a little, but wasnt too bad, looks good, great quality, rather fabricate this and save 300 than pat for the indian which is basically the same seat

Well I've only had it for a day but I can tell it's good quality and looks just like the OEM at a quarter of the price. If you have a Chieftain you will need to upsize the hole's as it is made for a Chief that has 1" holding lugs and the Chieftain has 1 1/4" holding lugs other then that it's perfect. Strongly recommend it.

Poor workmanship. Welds were sub standard. Don't waste your time.

Fits like a glove , not so good as original but price way better then original
