The metal adjustment dial turns smoothly and stays reliable even after extended use, and the rear trigger feels well-balanced—firm, responsive, and comfortable, with a built-in lock for hands-free watering. Its included QuickConnect adapter makes attaching and detaching an absolute breeze. Many users note consistent, leak-free connections—in rare cases where leaks emerge, they’re minor and often eliminated with a tight seal and proper tightening. With a price typically around $12–13, you’re getting metal-grade build quality far beyond most nozzles in this price range. Backed by Melnor’s lifetime limited warranty, it’s clear this product is meant to last a lifetime—not just a season.I purchased one last spring and subsequently replaced the other cheap alternatives on each of my other hoses. The Melnor truly stands out in a market saturated with disposable plastic nozzles. Doesn't leak!
So far, so good. I have an issue with these things. The local big box stores all have the same crap and they leak and they break. Almost 80, I can remember the one we had my entire life! All brass, not fancy, but it held up and did the job. So far, so good. It doesn't leak, for starters; we'll see how it holds up.

Great yard tool
I love this! Very solid and easy to use. The design allows me to let go to turn the water off and I can move to the next plant or other spray need. Inexpensive for the solid metal construction of the main part. The variety of spray options is very nice, allows a fine mist to a cleaning stream. Easy to change or adjust the spray by turning the nozzle. I am in love with the quick connector system! So easy to change or take off and store.

Solid construction, but design needs improvement
I have purchased multiple Melnor metal hose nozels in the past. They have solid construction and outlast their plastic counterparts. My previous nozzle was the heavyweight with the rear trigger. This time, I tried the heavyweight with the thumb control. I really like the concept of the thumb control, but I think it needs a redesign. First, the thumb control is very stiff and somewhat difficult to move. It needs to be much easier to move. Second, I find the usage counterintuitive. One moves the thumb control down to turn it on and up to turn it off. All other nozzles I have used have the opposite function (up is on, down is off - like a light switch and many other devices). Hopefully, Melnor will fix these design issues in the future.

Be perfect nozzle
Alright, so I finally got around to wrestling with this new hose sprayer nozzle, and let me tell you, this thing feels like you could use it to fend off a particularly aggressive squirrel. It's all metal-y and tough, like they built it to survive the apocalypse... or at least my attempts at watering the petunias. For the price, I'm not gonna lie, it seems pretty decent. It actually, you know, *works*. And the different spray settings? Oh boy, it's got more options than my streaming service on a Friday night. From a gentle mist that barely dampens the patio to a jet stream that could probably knock a stubborn weed into next week, it's got you covered. Some fancy pants reviewer probably called it "well-engineered," which, yeah, I guess it is. It sprays water in different ways. Revolutionary, I know. Now, about that "quick connect" thingy... It's quick alright. Quick to connect, quick to make you think, "Oh, this is easy!" And then, BAM! Surprise sprinkler system right at the hose connection. It's like the nozzle is saying, "Yeah, I'll spray your plants... and your shoes... and maybe the neighbor's cat if I'm feeling spicy." So, while it's a breeze to hook up, maybe keep a towel handy unless you enjoy impromptu water balloon fights with your garden hose.Overall, though, not bad. Just be prepared for a little unexpected hydration at the connection point. Maybe they should rename it the "kinda quick, kinda leaky connect." Just a thought.

BUY IT. WORTH THE RISK
Definitely a solid built. It’s feels substantial and is noticeably heavier than all the Orbit nozzles from Costco. The spring action of the lever has a very nice linear feel and is easy to pull. The copper nut for adjusting the lever as well as the spray options are easy to turn. Happy enough with the product that we got another one for the backyard. We’re only on week one but if everything keeps working as well as it does now, this is the real deal. Bottom line: Yes, get it. It’ll be hard to find a meatier nozzle at this price point therefore this is worth the risk.
