Well made thermostat (1 YearUPDATE: stays stuck open)
To be on the safe side, one should test the thermostat to make sure it's working properly before installing it. I trust Gates products. They make great quality belts, hoses, and thermostats. One important note when installing a thermostat is the hole near the outer edge needs to be placed in the upper center position. UPDATE: 4/5/2026 The thermostat stays stuck open. On cold days 60 degrees or under, my temperature needle never/barely moves from the bottom, even on 80 mile drives. Only on warmer days over 80 degrees will my temperature needle reach very close to normal operating temperature of 170 degrees. I'm replacing it with the same one because it gets the best overall reviews. I probably just got a rare bad one.
