Easy Install and Does the Job!
Didn't work initially because I didn't follow the sequence in the instructions. Need to ensure all power if off to both connected devices before you turn it on! After doing as instructed, it worked perfectly! It seems analogue outputs are a thing of the past with new TV's. I'm sure it's a cost-savings measure but they ignore the fact so many good stereos are still out there and force people like me to take extraordinary measures. This gadget converts the optical output to analogue and lets you "plug-in" the RCA cable like we have done for so many years. I am very happy with it!

This item worked on my analog soundbar to my new TCL digital TV
This item solved my problem enabling me to connect my older PYLE soundbar to my new TCL TV. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the Toslink connections seem to be so loose and it seems like they just hang there. No snap clip or anything to give you a feeling that you have a good connection. Further, the red light emanating from the connection wire makes you wonder how good the connection is.. Ok I am hard of hearing thus I would not comment on the quality of sound coming from this connection but I can say it works!

Exactly what I needed for my Logitech speakers
I recently purchased a set of Logitech z506 5.1 Channel Surround Sound speakers, with no means of connecting them to my TV. A lot of reviews and forums on the speakers suggested there was no way to connect them to a TV. For those that said they were able, they mentioned only being able to get stereo sound, not surround sound. Using this audio converter box, I was able to get the surround sound I wanted. Simply plug the coaxial cable into the back of your TV and the other end into the converter box. Then get yourself a 2 male/2 male RCA cable (here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D5H8P0G/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and plug one end into the converter box and the other into your subwoofer. Then turn on your speakers and TV and you'll have yourself crystal clear 5.1 surround. This product really saved me from having to purchase unnecessary cables and needless equipment. 10/10 would highly recommend and buy again.

Works as intended with the additional product warranty from amazon itself.
It works as intended and is cheap as compared to other "brands" which are basically just the same device but sold under their own "brands". Furthermore since it is amazon's own brand you get a hassle free warranty if it is ever needed. Only thing which is my own bad due to not reading the description properly is that there is no 3.5mm on the output side but luckily I have a extra audio to 3.5mm cable lying around so that fixes the problem.

Wouldn't work:
On my new 70 inch Samsung High Def, this wouldn't work. Didn't send the audio signal to my stereo to give me a sound boost over the internal TV speakers. I saw light in the optical cable out, but, no sound. Unit got power from the USB, as stated.

Requires disconnecting and reconnecting every 5-10 minutes
I wanted to like this, but it disconnected with awful buzzing every few minutes. After disconnecting and reconnecting it would again work for a bit, before repeating.
