Yvresse Legere by Yves Saint Laurent for Women 1.0 oz Eau de Toilette Spray

I don’t often wear fragrances as too many are strong, overwhelming and just not pleasant. However, many, many years ago I fell in love with this fragrance called Champagne. It was wonderful. Soft and elegant. Just a whiff of it when you walked by made others turn their head and smile. It was perfect. But like so many things in life, Champagne went away and I learned that this new product was rated very similar so I had to have it. One word ‘disappointment.’ It did not have the same softness as Champagne, it was harsher and hit the nostrils with a bitterness or saltiness almost too spicy. That bottle sits on my shelf unused as a reminder, sometimes ain’t nothing like the real thing.

I ordered this by mistake. I wanted Yvresse and when I used it I knew instantly it was not the perfume I have been using for about 20 yrs. Yvresse which was original called Champagne is what I wanted and the only perfume I can tolerate. This is Yvresse Legere which is vastly different. It's not bad, but not what I wanted and I probably won't use it which is quite a waste of money. As I researched to find my beloved Yvresse, the price has tripled or quadrupled or more, depending on the seller. I am so bitterly disappointed because I can't afford it any more, and as I said, I have been using it for at least 20 years. I will not purchase this item again, and if you're looking for Yvresse, this is NOT it.

Very expensive!!!

I received this as a gift and was so very disappointed that the perfume had little to no fragrance. The scent that was decipherable had no resemblance to Yvress/ Champagne. I had a few precious drops left out if a bottle that was several years old and that scent was strong and just as it should be. We didn't try to return it because I discarded the box and a few weeks have passed since original purchase. Maybe it is worth a try for a refund or at least a replacement.The avg cost of this perfume has almost tripled since I last purchased it about 2 years ago on perfume.com and they no longer have it in stock. This may mean it is completely discontinued. I will keep hunting. Beware of bottles sold at a discounted price.An Update: The item was returned for a full refund - which was much appreciated. Found Yvress on sale at Saks and Neiman Marcus online. The fragrance is what I remember, thankfully, but alas, it is weaker and does not last anywhere near as long as the original formula. Still worth a sniff.

Love this fragrance! It used to be called Champagne until there was a lawsuit because of the name. Anyway, I love this fragrance, but TOO expensive. Ridiculous. It was never that expensive, until it became hard to find.
