All around perfect!
Absolutly perfect size for 1 ferret! Easy to install between the instructions and the video provided on amazon! 30 min tops!. Shipped a day early! Throw some ferret mats on top of the grating and you're as good as Gold. No sense in spending that extra money on the name brand. Locks work great wheels roll amazingly across carpet and hard floor, if you don't need/want the wheels, you can snap em right back off. The cage has rubber stubs to not scratch flooring. Solid built cage! Super easy to clean and great for storage

Good for the price
Some of the bars are bent on mine but it is function and I like the color! Good value for the price. I use it for my single chinchilla and it is a good size for her

Sturdy and Holds up Well
I bought this cage for my two rats, however I will say right off that this cage is not made for rats! The spaces between the bars are too far apart and I had to add chicken wire around it, this is just an fyi to rat owners looking into this cage. The cage itself is exactly as expected besides the bar spacing but that’s my fault for not checking into it further! This was easy to put together and has held up well for the almost year that I’ve had it. It is not hard to clean and can be taken apart and put back together if needed to do so. I also like the fact that I can use the top and bottom sections separately and have different animals in each if I wished. Overall this cage has been great and I have no complaints about it.

Not a good permanent cage for chinchillas, might work for a smaller animal.
I recently purchased this cage as an emergency back up cage for my chinchillas. When purchasing this item I knew the quality wouldn’t compare to the MidWest Homes Critter Nation double unit cage my two girls live in. Like I said, it’s for emergencies and hopefully I’ll never need to use it. It does give me piece of mind that if I needed to separate them for any reason or if I needed to transport them someplace for an extended period of time I’m prepared. I was looking into a collapsible travel cage but it was over four times the amount of this item and I couldn’t justify the expense.Assembly was pretty straight forward. Some of the panels were slightly warped but I was able to bend them back easily with my bare hands. This says something about the quality and stability of the metal. I’d be surprised if this cage can withstand the shenanigans of an active chinchilla for an extended period of time. I wouldn’t put up ledges for fear the metal bars would snap when they jumped on them. I did attach the included plastic tray but will cover it with anti-pill fleece, as plastic is a danger to chins. (If they chew it, which they most likely will at some point, it can cause blockage and be fatal.) I will also be making fleece cage liners for the floor as the bars on the bottom of the cage aren’t good for their feet. They can catch a toe while running around. This cage measures 24”X17”. The MidWest cage measures 36”X25”. So it’s almost half the surface area of the MidWest Cage. I wanted a smaller size for this cage as it will be easier to put in my car and transport if necessary so it works for my purpose. Personally, I would not be happy with this size as a full time home for one chin (definitely not two). If you have a smaller animal it may work fine. Chinchillas need room to jump around. I would NOT attach a wheel. It would take up the majority of the cage (15” minimum circumference or they can end up with hunched backs) and it would not be stable and most likely would snap the bars it was attached to. Anyone who owns a chin knows how hard they run on these things. The entire cage rattles and you wonder how it stays up.I like the locking mechanism on the door; it feels solid and secure. And I also like the hatch that opens from the top of the cage. It’s flimsy but I like the concept for easy access.I give this item 3 stars because it works as a temporary home for a chinchilla but I doubt it would last. I’d spend the extra money and get the sigle unit MidWest cage. It’s more stable, more room to attach ledges, a wheel, water bottle, etc., and it’s expandable. You can get an add on unit later on and build up. (I’ve actually been debating buying the add on and turning my double unit into a triple but my girls are spoiled as it is.) If you go the cheaper route it’ll work for a while but if you replace the cage only once it’s equivalent in cost to the MidWest cage which should last the life of your pet.If you have a smaller animal that isn’t as forcefully athletic, vaulting off the side of the cage, this cage may work fine for you. If, like me, you want an emergency back up cage, this will work fine (just cover the bars on the floor and any plastic should you use the included shelf or ramp). In these instances this cage is a decent value for the money. If you are looking for a permanent home for a chinchilla, I suggest you go with MidWest’s Ferret or Critter Nation cage. It’s larger, safer and will last much longer saving you money in the end. It’s better to make the investment up front.I’m attaching a photo of the freshly assembled unit in front of our couch for size reference. I'm also attaching a photo of my current cage with a red rectangle showing how this cage compares in size. Be mindful that this cage isn't as deep so it doesn't go as far back either. Remember, for a chinchilla you’ll need to add a hide, a hay feeder, food dish and water bottle at minimum. This will fill this cage’s space rather quickly.

Wanted to like it but...
I was looking to upgrade my ferret's cage and thought this one looked pretty good for the price. Well...1- The instructions are not clear and the parts are not numbered, so you are left guessing. The way they instruct you to assemble it seems like a joke when you get it all together, it would be much easier if you do it in a different way. When I was tightening all the screws I realized something wasn't quite right, the hole in between the floors and the ladders and so on won't allign. In order to solve this, I would have had to disassemble the whole thing and I'm not even sure what I would do differently to make them fit. I ended up doing a DIY, where to go up and down they use flex tubes instead, because the ladders were a mess. I also ended up removing with pliers the "door" in between floors because it was backwards.2- The pictures show 2 levels with a dark plastic tray. Well, there is only 1 plastic and it goes underneath the metal bars. This is not good for ferrets or small animals. My simple solution was to put the plastic bin INSIDE the cage and get some coroplast, cut it to size and make a new floor for the other floor. I wanted to have a CAGE FOR FERRETS once assembled, but that didn't end up being the case.3- Only one side of the doors open. It's not like the "good" cages where you can open both and access, if you have to clean, it's not the most comfortable thing ever.4-Not thrilled with the shipping. I was supposed to come on Saturday and it came on Tuesday. I could have gone with another color or another cage altogether, but I chose this one in part for the quick shipping. Oh, well, it is all good.Apart from that the cage is just fine. If you are into adapting things, then probably you can make it work, but I wouldn't use this out of the box with ferrets.
