Great Game...Glitches Are The Only Drawback
It took me a while to get into this game but once I did I really liked it. It's one of those games the further you get into the the better it gets. Basically this game is very much like a Grand Theft Auto concept. You can do missions or you can run around and do whatever.Pro's:- Very big world to explore...very big- Voice acting pretty good and convincing- Good number of missions...don't like one, just do another one or go exploring- The further you get, the more items you find and acquire, which makes the game more funCons:- Glitches- and I don't mean one or two. This got very annoying at times, where I would have to restart my PS3 and go to the most recent save point. The good thing is an auto save feature usually brings you close to where you were. The glitches got to be such a pain at one point I had to alter my gameplay because it kept freezing up in the same spot each time. My PS3 was brand new when I was playing this game and I have never had any problems like this on other games outside of this game.- Graphics- This was not a problem for me, but basically to me they are PS2 graphics. The game is so great though this was a none issue for me...I'm just mentioning it.

UPDATE!!! STILL AWESOME GAME~!
I was really nervous about buying this game because of all the bad reviews saying how the PS3 version was so buggy it was unplayable. Well I have not had any problems whatsoever and I absolutely love this game. It is definitely a game of the year game that is for sure. I did erase all my old data from the original Fallout 3 and created a brand new file for the GOTY edition so maybe thats why I haven't had any problems I don't know. Anyway this game has huge replay value and is a great game to own not rent. Zero buyers remorse for me so there you go.UPDATE : 1-20-2010Ok I have played through the entire game again and I had to update my review. I still love the game and I am happy with my purchase BUT I can say that yes there are a lot of glitches the longer you play the game. But what I learned to do is manually save A LOT. Do this and your good to go. I only had it freeze up completely a hand full of times and a lot of times if you just wait a minute it will un-freeze on its own and If it doesn't then just restart your system and load your most recent manual save. Anyway I still love this game buggy or not.

Great so far
I never owned fallout before the GOTY, and as of right now, I havent experienced the trouble that others are reporting. I only have about 2 maybe 3 hours of gameplay in right now, so it may be too early to tell. I wonder how big the hard drives are for those having trouble. The game is wonderful, I really cant find any complaints with it. Give me a few more weeks and I will come back and do an update.UPDATE-----------------------------------------------------29 OCT 09Ok. The game does freeze up, but I think I found out why.1. sometimes I play while I'm connected to teh playstation network and in chat it will freeze if I try to send a message or something. But that is really not the game itself.2. I found myself playing for quite awhile the other day. Lets say almost 9 hours straight. The game actually froze up on me and I cut it off, granted I played for 9 hours straight, (a lot of wasted time I know). It has frozen slightly a few times but this game is huge. I have not experienced anything like others are saying but as I keep playin I will keep yall updated. Also, I think I'm gonna delete some of the demos I have so I can have more room on my HDD.I still give it 5 stars, because this game is excellent.UPDATE-----------------------------------------------------21 DEC 09Ok. I had to tke a star away because of the freezing problems. Yes it does freeze, and there are frame rate issues. I am doing point look out atm and it seems when I fast travel to certian areas there are frame rate issues. I have found out one thing worked for sure, and another thing that kinda helped it.1st the thing that helped. When ever things slowed down especially from a fast travel I "outran" the lag. Meaning I kept moving to a different area and that cleared it up a bit.2nd thing that worked was I just paused quickly before it froze and quit the game. Then reloaded. It saved a lot more time then trying to play through watching it freeze then having to reset.Last thing. You dont have to hard reset the game for it to stop. I found that resetting this way gives me a msg of not turing off the PS3 correctly. What I have been doing instead is ejecting then reinserting the game. This causes the PS3 to reset and no error msg.Anyway Fallout 3 is still one of the best games I have played. I does have some issues but to those who are interested in this game, it is well worth it. You will have to do some tricks with it later, but if you can stand that then you will enjoy this game.

Go There!
This is the second time I've purchased this gam.... Experience. It's that good.I have a hard time deciding if FO3, Skyrim or heavily modded Morrowind is my favorite of all time. But I think it's this one.I don't review things often but felt compelled to chime in here. This is a game that you can run through or that you can savor for hundreds of hours. Endless things to do and explore. I'm not.particularly goal oriented. Not a twitch thumb get it done kind of guy.One of my favorite things to do as the lone wanderer is to just glass around the area from a perch on a ruined bridge. The sun setting. The stillness with just the sighing of the wind for company. Very often you'll see interesting things in the distance. Small battles between people robots and creatures. This world feels so alive and active. It isn't all focused on you.And sometimes some really jaw dropping things can occur. I don't know how Beth did it, but some of the random things that happen are just amazing. My real reason for posting here is to inform PS3 users that there are a few things that can be done to improve the glitches. A bit much to get into here but a search of the Beth forums will lead the way. There ARE fixes for the common problems.BOW WOW
