Best Multitool
I've had this Multitool for over a year now and I wouldn't be without it. It has had countless uses from camping to doing emergency DIY around the house. Some reviews that I had read premiums to purchase said that the Philips screwdriver wasn't up to much, that couldn't be further from the truth I have very seldom not been able to use it on a whole variety of screw sizes. I like the fact that there is access to the tools without opening the pliers. The scissors have been use a reasonable amount to and the are pretty substantial. Yeah they are small so obviously there not as good as a proper set but good all the same. They are a whole lot different to the wee scissors that are often found on multi tools ( which have issues with the spring going). On this knife the scissors are still usable after a fair bit of use after a year. My only wee grip is it might have been good to have a wee file instead of the lanyard loop or serrated knife( which I personally haven't used much as the other knife has always been sufficient.I like the idea of the lanyard loop but again never used it) but that's just a personal preference. The locking mechanism is really good to and holds the tools securely and is quite easy to unlock with the thumb. This multi tool is nearly always in my pocket or near at hand and most days I find myself using it. Fully reckon end it.

Think; Be Positive - Adapt - Overcome - Succeed!
I read so many glowing reviews of the Bear Grylls Ultimate Multi-Tool by Gerber that I could not resist ordering one. I am constantly doing little jobs around the house and I can't count the number of times that I have been out and about and found the need to have a pair of tiny spring-loaded scissors. I was also convinced that this tool would allow me to empty one tool-heavy side pocket of my camping backpack and replace all the various knives and tools with this one item. If it was good enough for Mr. Grylls then it was good enough for me. Order in - I began packing my equipment for a few days away from the hustle and bustle of the concrete and plastic world to a relaxing escape beneath the canopy of stars amid natures own embrace. My tool arrived on the very day that my trip was to begin and so I excitedly packed it away and looked forward to opening it later that night having made camp. I felt liberated and virtuous as I sat on the tree stump beside the dancing flames of the fire made by my own hands. My chest filled with pride and the fresh air of the forest as I switched on my headlamp and made my way inside my tent for a well earned rest and a first look at my new Ultimate multi-tool. The Gods were with me as the first fork of lightening streaked across the canvas above me and the sharp crack and rumbles of thunder announced the downpour of torrential rain. I was fed and watered and the sound of the rain on my tent would be the soothing music to aid my sleep. An hour later I was huddled in only a t-shirt and tracksuit bottoms at the foot of a willow tree as I watched the last shred of my tent tearing through the forest along with the rest of my gear in the hurricane force winds. I couldn't see very clearly due to the heavy rain beating my face to numbness and my bare feet were cut and turning blue from the undergrowth and cold. I thought of how lucky I was to have escaped my tent just as it was ripped up and tossed like a tissue by the fierce elements of the night. Lesser men may have panicked but, I pushed my back against the tree and as I tried to control the trembling, I kept repeating to myself, "What would Bear Grylls do in this situation"? Then it hit me! Bear would use his survival skills and would remain Positive; he would Adapt, he would Overcome and he would Succeed! He would laugh at the night and think it a simple task to survive with his trusty multi-tool. My heart soared and raced with the realisation that I now possessed such a tool myself! I tore at the hermetically sealed packaging with my fingers and tried to ignore the sharp edges of the plastic that cut into my flesh. Next I tore at the molded plastic with my teeth until the sour taste of blood from my gums and lips ran down my fingers. I scraped and banged the packaging against the tree and tried to poke into it with a sharp stick at my feet but, it was not surrendering the multi-tool. My fire had been long extinguished so fire was not an option. If only I had a tiny pair of scissors or some kind of small saw blade or serrated knife. I thought that I could have managed with even a pair of long-nosed pliers or a bottle opener - I was bereft of all. I wondered what action Bear would advise and felt the mixture of salty tears and warm blood run down my cheeks as the next flashing streak of lightening illuminated the unrelenting plastic packaging and the orange glow of Bears' Survival Guide wrapped neatly inside with the tool. If only I had thought to check what "Other customers also bought with this item". Maybe then I would have purchased the "Ultimate Opening Device for the Ultimate multi-tool. Alas I did not and every day is a school day so I have learned. I was eventually airlifted and rescued after my wife reported me missing on the fourth night. Lucky enough I was still able to twist my headlight on with my frozen and bloody fingers as the helicopter approached. I will never forget the courage of that rescue team and I will always be grateful to them for risking their own lives to save mine. The pilot and I have remained firm friends and we often go camping together. I can still remember the feeling of achievement and final satisfaction that night as I was flown out of the forest and the co-pilot finally high-fived the pilot and turned to me and said "Yes! I've done it! I've managed to force open your Ultimate Multi-Tool packaging! We still talk about that packaging sometimes around the camp fire and we laugh at the night because we are safe in the knowledge that our multi-tool is now open and at the ready along with Bears' included double-sided Survival Guide. Me man - me make fire! I forgot to say that this tool is actually a real quality product and it feels great in the hand. As others have said, the nylon pouch that comes with it is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Definitely don't use it to attach to your belt if you don't want to lose your tool.

A well made and sturdy multi-tool which is designed to last a lifetime
I have been so impressed with this multi-tool that I bought 2 more as Christmas presents. It is reassuringly weighty, well designed and the construction is clearly bomb-proof. I have now used it frequently for various tasks for several months and I can report no problems whatsoever with it. It has just enough tools to be useful for most purposes without having so many that it becomes fiddly and awkward to select what is required as is the case with other overloaded multi-tools. Also, compared to other well-known brands this Gerber Multi-Tool represents excellent value for money. It feels as if it is designed to last a lifetime and I think it will.

Fantastic bit of pocket kit
A brand I've always had, so was high in my list when needing a new multi tool. This doesn't disappoint. The locking system can be seen as a bug bear, but it's safety. You get used to it after a short while. Worthwhile purchase for the outdoors person and sportspeople

Excellent tool for the money
This is a really good quality tool. The blades are incredibly sharp and it feels really well put together for the price. I've knocked a star off though because of the following: (1) The case is ridiculous. It would have been a great case if not for the annoying 'survival guide' pocket that the tool gets caught on EVERY time you try to put it away. I've not managed it once without having to take the case off my belt and fiddle the thing in. Fortunately for me I had a cheap, rubbish quality, alternative multi-tool (that I leave in the car) which I'd bought for a few quid at the petrol station and the case on that is quite good so I've swapped them. (2) There's no obvious nail groove in most of the tools to get them out easily. There are nooks in each of them which serves the same purpose, but they are often recessed into the tool and difficult to get at if you have large fingers and short nails. Still the tool is well equipped and well spec'd and I'd recommend it nevertheless.

A complete tool-kit in your pocket.
This thing is completely invaluable. Once you’ve had one for a while, you’ll wonder how you managed before. In the last twenty years I’ve had the same model of tool, but it has been replaced four times. The first time it ‘failed’ (after about fourteen years!) Gerber replaced it under warranty. Since then, I’ve broken the main blade on one, and managed to break the plier’s pivot point on two (completely my fault, so I didn’t try for a warranty replacement) That said, this really is the modern equivalent of a Swiss Army knife…only better.

Possibly the best multi tool in the market.... the scissors r so sharp that they can cut thru braided dyneema. 2 different knives makes it all the more attractive and useful... the previous version had one. The pliers are awfully strong with excellent grip... well done Gerber, once again!

Extremely good quality and very durable. I'm big on camping and have owned many multi-tools in the past but none of them lasted for more than a year. They would either succumb to rust, become dull, or just outright break. I've been using this for a few months now and have not experienced any problems. The item has good weight and feels very strong/durable. I keep this in my pocket everywhere I go. Highly recommend it.

Multiherramienta de tamaño contenido, pero que lleva lo más imprescindible. Con una hoja de sierra sería ya espléndida. Buen acabado y color muy acertado.
