If you dont have gender changers in hand, you might want to think twice....
I received the unit on time as promised last week. It looks good and appears to be just what I need. However, I have not used it yet because all the vga jacks are 15 point male vga. All of my monitor cables are 15 point vga. Im not a computer geek, so maybe I am wrong, but this seems a little odd to build a KVM switch ths way. I would not be bringing this up if I could find gender changes in Radio Shack or a local store....I had to order them on line....therefore I still can rate the performance of the switch. But, I will.

VGA extension cables will work
Can't rate it because I haven't bought it yet, but an observation: Standard VGA monitor cables are male at each end. A VGA extension cable is male at one end and female at the other, so that would work instead of a standard cable plus gender changer. But you're right, it does seem odd to have male connectors on the KVM.
