OXO Good Grips POP Container - Mini Square Medium 800 ml

Airtight my aunt Fanny!
I have bought several of these OXO POP containers in different sizes to organise my larder during this lockdown period. I was so trusting that I washed them all out and filled them with my ingredients before testing the airtight seal. They are not cheap so I was appalled to discover that every single one of the large containers are not airtight in the slightest; the lids can be lifted off with a delicate upwards push, total rubbish.I know that I can send them back to Amazon for a refund, but I was interested to know what the manufacturer had to say. I was asked by OXO Good Grips UK to upload photos and a video, which I did over 2 weeks ago and have since been ignored. After phoning twice more and still not receiving an acknowledgment from the technical team, I am assuming the manufacturer does not give a toss and will not be honouring its life time guarantee.I will be sending all of these back to Amazon for a refund and will buy truly airtight containers elsewhere for half the price.

Not your usual standard oxo!
Bought a load of these oxo containers because we have some in the US and they are great. These however are not the same product at all. They are not as sturdy or as well sealed. Lid can pull off easily when closed. To add insult to injury one came without a lid. Don’t want to return the order for one missing lid so tried to buy a lid- no chance. So wasted my money on this container. Not good oxo your products are usually good, a brand we trust, not so much anymore.

Not the same quality as previous ones I've bought.
As with other reviewers, this Oxo pop up container is nowhere near as good quality as previous ones ( I've got about 15)The lid is thinner, a different shape and doesn't fit properly. It sits loose and therefore not airtight. I feel a bit cheated as it was expensive for such reduced quality. They are normally marvellous containers; it is a real shame. PS I very rarely give a bad review, preferring to reserve reviews for things I really appreciate, but this takes the biscuit!!

Go for a cheaper more durable version
Okay. So I’m pretty disappointed with these products. I was drawn to this particular storage given its airtight characteristics. Which is practically non existent. The push button is redundant. The lid comes off regardless. It’s not like it’s cheap, so that’s super annoying. Definitely wouldn’t purchase gain. Sometimes the known brands aren’t the best unfortunately. Furthermore container gets scratched up easily.

Does not seal, is NOT airtight.
This size of the product the lid doesn't seal at all. I also bought the 0.6l size for garlic bulbs and they seal very well but these larger ones the lid lifts off easily whether or not you have pressed the 'seal' button on top. The seal button also feels flimsier on this size than the smaller one, though they are branded as the same they don't seem to be anything like the same quality.

Nice. But over hyped and over priced.
I bought two of these to store plain/AP flour and bread flour. We bake quite a lot and make pizza dough weekly so wanted a good quality pair of canisters to store multiple bags of flour at a time.I’m not sure why these canisters are so expensive. They look lovely and I like the wide opening to scoop out flour when baking, but they aren’t as sturdy as I expected and, as other reviewers mention, the seal between the lid and the canister breaks very easily When it is handled etc and you have to re-pop the popper.I’m a huge fan of the Oxo brand but I don’t see the hype with this range. They’re nice but not worth the price, in my opinion.Note - I washed them before use and tested the seals and they are indeed airtight/watertight, I know a few reviewers said they had issues with theirs.

Dimensions misleading.
I bought the 1.6 litre container on the basis of the dimensions given - so 10.8 cm square by 24.1 cm. However, the 10.8 cm refers to the size of the top of the lid. The sides of the container slope inwards and the external dimensions of the base are just under 9 cm. The actual depth of the useable space in the tub is approximately 20.5 cm. This means I can't use the container for what I had intended. However, it's a POP box and I'm sure I'll find a use for it somewhere! I've had some smaller POP boxes for years and they're still going strong. There are a few differences between this container and the older ones I have.- This one is fully dishwasher safe. On the old ones only the silicone seal was dishwasher safe.- The older boxes had a ring-style seal. This box has a has a cup-shaped seal which covers all the internal plastics.- Both boxes have a thick plastic layer which covers the silicone. The plastic on the newer box just pulls off with a downward motion. Dismantling the older boxes means rotating the plastic base. Both the boxes seem to be made of the same material - they have the same recycling mark (7 in a triangle with 'Other' written underneath) and they're both BPA free.Whilst comparing the old and new boxes I noticed some scratches on the base of one of the older boxes.
