I bought this for my Apple TV. Some hotels I stay at don't have HDMI inputs on their old TVs or have them disabled. But almost every TV has a VGA and audio input. Here's a tip for Apple TV people, I had to learn this the hard way. The native Apple TV resolution is much higher than what a VGA input can handle. You have to change the resolution. Plug in your Apple TV power, this converter, audio, and a VGA cable. If the screen is blank or the TV says "resolution not supported, etc" do the following: For Apple TV (4th generation), hold Menu and Volume Down for five seconds. For Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), hold Menu and Up for five seconds. The Apple TV will cycle through different resolutions every 20 seconds. Eventually, you'll land on one that your TV supports. The Apple TV will show you instructions on the screen that says to hit enter to keep that resolution.

I was looking for an inexpensive device to hook up my old InFocus X1 projector (VGA Input) to my Roku 3 (HDMI output). Set my Roku to 720P (not 1080p with my projector) and simply hooked up the device to my projector. Be sure to set the projector (at least the InFocus X1) to VGA input with 16:9 format and Voila! I can now watch Netflix (or anything else off my Roku) via my projector. Sound even plays if I connect the included audio cable to the projector sound input. The only thing needed was a male to male VGA cable (which I already had with my old projector, it's the same cable needed to hook up your vga computer to the projector). Very happy!!!

I bought this because I had a purchased the Sewel PC to TV converter which requires you to have a vga port on your PC. I did not, so I purchased this to convert the VGA to HDMI. This unit comes with a cord for the microphone as well. The converter itself works just fine, I get a picture however, I don't get any sound. I have tried using both the original Sewel cord and the one enclosed here, nether work. So for me this didn't work. I do know the Sewel unit works fine because I connected it to my work laptop and both sound and picture come through just fine.

I was able to just plug it in and walaa it worked .......I have a VGA to component cable to my plasma TV I bought earlier ..so that works also , not just VGA to VGA but... VGA out to component in also ... a multi use cable adapterNow the price will go up ... just check back later...... buy it while you can at this price soon

Works fantastic! We are using this cord to connect our Sanyo projector (vga) with a Roku as well as a PS3 (hdmi). We connect our audio in through the adapter also. This has been so fun for our family. I would recommend this product for those with the same needs we had. Hooking everything up was very simple and we are not tech experts by a long shot.

I bought this to connect a Raspberry Pi 2 with a VGA monitor. It's perfect! The 6" cable gets it free of the other connectors on the Pi, and the ability to provide power to the adapter from a powered USB hub means that the Pi's power supply isn't strained. And the price is much lower than the price asked for the official Pi adapter. Highly recommended.

Positively plug and play. I ordered this because my wife's new Dell laptop for her work does not have a VGA connector, only HDMI. We share a monitor through a two port KVM switch for VGA, keyboard and mouse. Plugged this into the HDMI connector on the Dell, then the other end into the KVM switch. Works perfectly, no issues, perfect picture and sound.

This adapter worked extremely well for about 5 months. It suddenly quit working one day. After contacting customer support, they quickly worked to resolve the issue and, because of their customer service, I am giving them 3 stars

SONY製BDプレーヤー「BDP-SX910」を、DVIの15ピンに接続し（HDMI to VGA）、大きな画面で観るために購入。サンワサプライ製の「VGA-CVHD2」と購入を迷いましたが、但し書きに更に迷わされ、価格もこちらの方が手頃だったためダメもとの気分でした。しかし、いざ接続してみると、映像＆音声ともに良好！正直、この手のコンバーターは、ピンキリの価格に翻弄されます。安いもので数百円、高いもので数千円ですから。有名メーカーでさえ、相性や、個別の機器に責任は持てないと明示されています。もちろん私も自己責任において購入したのですが、同じ迷いの方がいたとき、参考になればと投稿しました。

素晴らしい15ピンの端子しかないモニターでもHDMI出力の機器が使えました。

8ヶ月で壊れました。画像、音声とも全く出力しなくなりました。別の製品を購入することにしました。
