Not too bright, not too dull, just perfect brightness for a well lit room or at nightleast. Unfortunately it’s only battery operated but the batteries last quite a long time, very durable for my son who’s dropped it off the shelf more than i can count and it still functions 100% no cracks or chips. I bought this light for my daughter. She loves its! It’s perfectly sized and fits great on her shelf. We did have to buy batteries for it but they’ve lasted quite a while. The light is bright and changes different colors and patterns. She loves the look of it and durability. It was easy to assemble just put batteries in a good to go.
