Good product - but disappointed it's still a powder and dose is 15 g per horse not 5 g
I've used the powder Probios with my dogs and had good results getting their GI back on track after they had some trouble. I haven't seen as clear of results with my horse, but I still believe it's a good product. I' bought this version for her primarily because I thought it would be more of a pellet (but it's definitely just slightly coarser than the powder), it's base is calcium carbonate instead of whey and sucrose and the description said 5 g per day for a horse, but that's not true. You have to give 3 scoops a day just like with the powder. I was hoping this was a more concentrated version because my horse doesn't really like it so adding 3 scoops at once means she won't eat it. I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't a larger pellet and very disappointed that the dose is 15 g (3 heaping tsp). I think this a good product though.

Works well
We have a 23 year old gelding that has had trouble the past couple years with diarrhea. This is not a cure all for him but it definitely helps firm up his stool. It is worth a try if you are having similar problems. I mix it with oatmeal and applesauce so you don't waste any in the bottom of the feed pan since the granules seem to filter to the bottom. 1 scoop probios, 1/8 cup oatmeal and a couple tablespoons of applesauce does the trick. Then I just plop the mixture on top of the grain and he eats it all. You can mix a little molasses in too for an extra bit of special - he loves that!

Good for Dogs Too!
I bought this for my dog as well as my horses. I think it is lacking in the sweetener that is in the Probios product labeled for dogs. But our senior boy ate it up, and it seemed to have the same desired results. It is grainy, not powdery like the dog product. I have not yet fed it to the horses. There is a LOT in a five pound jar, and at the rate I feed it to my dog, I think it would last well past it's expiration date.

Love this Stuff!
My beautiful paint horse has gotten hives in December for the last 3 years( I had blood work done it came back that there were some airborne molds she was allergic to). The first 2 years I followed vets directions and she was on steroids & a bunch of other stuff. It just made it bearable for her but she looked horrible! Big lumps that would open and ooze yellow serum. Plus the expense was ridiculous! I started her on this in February 2014 and yay no hives this December! Also feed it to our 29 year old quarter horse gelding who we have to feed mostly mushes as his teeth are not great. All the mush was giving him some loose stools and this helps with that. He has a pep in his step and still frolics around the pasture! A healthy gut is good for people and animals!

Good quality product - highly recommend
I use this for my dogs and cats on a daily basis. I used the version for dogs before I realized the first ingredient was sucrose - sugar. This is the same thing just a little more granular, minus the sugar - more cost effective as well. Two out of my three dogs have sensitive stomachs and had regular bouts of diarrhea prior to the addition of a daily dose of Probios. Good quality product - highly recommend.

did not notice any change with the condition of the few animals I bought it for. Save your money and buy a good paste or liquid
I have used the entire container and did not notice any change with the condition of the few animals I bought it for. Save your money and buy a good paste or liquid probiotic. Once I did I had immediate good results. I was able to get most of the animals I tried it on to eat it with their feed, so it wasn't a matter of their not getting it into their digestive system. To administer the paste or liquid get a good plastic plunger type syringe with a 6 inch feeder tube so you get the probiotic behind their tongue so the animal doesn't split it back out.

Love this!
We use this for our Great Danes. They have very sensitive stomachs and everything gives them diarrhea. When using this supplement, their stomachs are calm. They digest properly, everything is firm and normal, and their skin and coats look amazing! This product is a must have for owners of sensitive dogs.

switched to Techmix
after using this product awhile as a preventative, learned less than 10million measured bacteria, which is not enough to make a difference with a horse. switched to TechMix Build Bac and it has 25 Billion live cells per ounce....
