Does the grain bag need moisture added to it or is it okay if it dries?

No. It does not require water to be added. None of the grain bags purchased such as this should require moisture added. I would look into a different brand/supplier as I had issues with both of the grain bags I purchased from this vendor. The first one was not completely sealed and ran a risk of contamination, however it did not. Still not good. Bought another to give them another try. The second bag exploded with bacteria contamination and had to be thrown away. Completely dissatisfied with this product and would not recommend.
