The ad is deceitfully manipulative. One would assume that since it is listed as “Japan Import” that it is made in Japan. NOT so, This is made in China. I already have one Made in China and i had the misfortune of working a prolong project so I surpass the time limit to return it. See photo attached. The new ine is on the right. I try to buy a good one that can actuallly cook rice correctly! I am returning this item and will cancel all ordered products from Daiso Japan.

Perfect for a small serving of rice or ramen! Definitely soak the rice thirty minutes prior. I do highly suggest putting something underneath it while it microwaves. It does have a tendency to spill over just a tad. Having a paper plate underneath makes cleanup much easier.I do wish the price was more reasonable for USD. I’ve seen people purchase this exact item in Japan at a Daiso for 300 yen. If you live in Japan try a Daiso store first. For someone that lives in the US I’ll pay to have something a little nicer than plastic that will last longer.😊

The media could not be loaded. I was super excited for this product as my friend got one and it was perfect to make small amounts of rice without having to set up my Rice cooker. Well it came in earlier than expected which is amazing, I opened it up and there was NO LID!! I am so disappointed and will be returning this item.

If you are fortunate enough to have Daiso, a Japanese store you can grab it there cheaper, but if not then Amazon is a great place to pick on of these ceramic 2 part mug and lid setup. Basically you add 2/3 cup rice, rinse, add 3/4 cup of water. Let it sit in the mug 30 minutes. Add a teaspoon of sesame oil or a pat of butter, a teaspoon of soy sauce and nuke it in the microwave for 7 minutes (I have to go 10 minutes in my microwave) with the bowl lid flipped on top to create a little steam dome action. The mug will rattle and you need to let it sit another 10 minutes before it is cool enough to handle. Take a fork and fluff it up. Take a bit and if it is chewy add a bit more water and nuke longer. All in all this is a great rice meal bowl that you can use anyplace that has a microwave. Perfect for the office or college.

After you use this product by microwave, sometime, you need to clean up the tray of microwave, but, it works. The problem is the value... It only $2.55 = 300 yen in Japan. Why I paid $28.00? ?
