Heirloom piece.....pass it on to the next generation too!!
Too good...for a long time I was wanting to own a state of art pan ..the kind I see on cookery shows....but would chicken out everytime I thought of buying thinking they were way too costly...until I chanced upon this one by Amazon brand SOLIMO.. It is very very sturdy...no more handles coming out loose and dangling by the rivets,as this one's handle is moulded from the same stuff as the pan....the colour is amazing!!!...so glossy and nice with a superior red glaze...A big plus is that it is glazed from inside too and so wont rust at all..I own skillets from LODGE, which are perfect for browning but then they are prone to rust and I have to wash and oil them everytime before storing them..A major point with LODGE is also that the food cooked in it gets a blackish tinge due to the iron( mind you if cooked for more than 15 minutes). This is particularly convenient while making pindi chana or dal palak , but some other dishes like yellow dal and cream cauliflower dont look appealing with black tinge. ..Also LODGE skillets are very very heavy ...Now this pan from SOLIMO solves these issues once and for all..This one is also heavy but not as much as the LODGE skillets...plus it wont rust ...Because it is glazed, therefore food items retain whatever colour they are supposed to.I have already made Tomato pasta and dalia upma in it...The cooking is even and uniformly done all over as regards both the dry as well as wet dishes. The pasta I cooked had a little tomato gravy and upma was the dry dish cooked in this pan. Cooking oil needed is as much as in the aluminium pans.HOWEVER PLEASE DO NOT CONFUSE IT WITH A NON STICK PAN...THIS PAN IS NOT A NON STICK PAN . This means that you must cook food on low to medium flame, stir it in between and generally be there to oversee the cooking....I never leave my food unattended anyways so I have not had the issue of burnt food both the times...What my advice in general is this.Go for a variety of cookware ,like cast iron skillets when you want to brown stuff or crisp them, glazed pans like this one when you are doing simple cooking of sabzis, a few good quality non stick pans to make omelletes etc, a heavy bottom handi or laag to cook biryani, kheer etc, a shallowwok for Chinese style cooking and a very very good ,high quality stainless steel kadhai like that from BERGNER for Indian style sabzis...then you are sorted. As for this glazed pan fromnSOLIMO, just go for it..

Amazon's Amazing Solimo pan!
My first impression on Pan is that it's attractive colour. It has white coating in inner side and reddish coating outside. Pan is quite heavy and small in size.Cooks food faster and evenly heats up. It is not 100% non stick hence you cannot cook items that use very little oil.Easy to clean.

TOO heavy
Too heavyIt is a whopping 3kg and lifting it by the handle is like using dumbells. Whoever designed it has never been in a kitchen. There is only one handle, and that is horizontal too , which makes it even harder to lift. Heavy utensils have their lifting provisions vertical and there will be two, positioned diametrically opposite. The handle getš very hòt too.Not a good buy, esp if this is to be used by a woman over 40yrs

Doubt the quality of enamel
Small pores appearing on the enamel. Have been using this tava for last one month and initially 3pores were there and now the no. is increasing.I have been using cast iron utensils for more than 15 years now. But this enamel coated one seems very sticky than the usual cast iron tava and consumes more oil. Seems it works better in lowest flame..
