The first thing that grabbed my attention was the quality of the components; the heavy base and the magnetic arms exude a level of durability that I appreciate.The adjustable arms are the stars of the show for me. They're not only great for holding circuit boards but they shine particularly well when I'm working with cables and splices. The ability to move the arms exactly where I need them, thanks to the strong magnetic base, has eliminated the usual hassle of keeping cables steady while I work on them. The different lengths of the arms are a thoughtful addition, providing just the right amount of reach when I need it.I also appreciate the sturdy alligator clips at the end of the arms; they have a firm grip, which is crucial when I'm splicing cables. The 360-degree rotation is a lifesaver, allowing me to easily get the right angle without having to constantly adjust my work.The heavy base with non-slip rubber pads is also a big plus. This tool has a nice heavy base with solid clamps. Soldering can be tedious and require a precise touch so work that is stable without moving is a must. This tool makes this possible.

Fantastic for soldering. Used this to solder Pis as well as peripherals. Very stable and the standoffs work great for soldering on boards.

Helping hands are amazing, can hold anything with them not just PCB's they are very sturdy and stiff and durable, the magnets are strong, I don't know why it took me so long to purchase one.Only issue is the alligator clamps don't directly screw in place to the extensions, the screw just holds it down. and gets slack over time so you will have to tighten them ever so often. Still works as intended and is an amazing product

Overall it is really well made. Strong magnets. Easy to use. The clips are the only problem. The handle part you squeeze has plastic covers that just slip off. Easy to fix with a bit of glue or silicone. The screws that hold the clips in place are hard to secure them. I ended up using pliers to crank them down.Good deal for sure!

sturdy base, nice design, very functional

The base is very thick steel which helps the magnets hold strongly. Good construction. Mine came with an extra alligator clip and screw which was a nice bonus. Perhaps they ran low on the 4-clip accessory kit so they included the 5-clip bag instead.The alligator clips are held in with the set screws and are easy to loosen and reposition. If I used this on a daily basis it would be easy to modify so the clamps are also held at the end of the arms via magnets so they could be quickly repositioned without fussing with the set screw each time.

This soldering aid is well engineered and is a welcome addition to my bench. The base plate is substantial and heavy. The no-slip feet keep it very stable and slide free. The four flexible arms can be positioned as need for any task at hand. The short pointed circuit board holders are just as versatile, in that a board can be laid on the points and be held rock steady, or the holdes can hug the edge of the board making it very stable. Throw away those other soldering aids that are a PITA, and get this one. You won't be disappointed.
