Worth all 24 dollars
SIZING:Ok, let us start with my measurements, just so you know whether the sizing is applicable to you or not. I am just short of 5’10”, 180 lbs, 36” waist, 41” chest, 33/34” arms, 15 1/2” neck, and I can fit in many medium sized shirts, but normally were a loose large. I purchased an XXL and it fits like my Large Nautica Robe (photos included.)MATERIAL:Now that we have that all out of the way, if you have ever slept on a satin sheet, then this is what you are about to purchase (in the shape of a robe.) The thickness, feel, and breathability is exactly that; a satin sheet. The only places where it is twice the thickness are the edges, where the material has been folded over 2-2 1/2” and sewn together. I purchased this robe for it’s lightweight material, as I have recently moved south and terry cloth is not conducive to any temperature over 70°. You may still sweat in the satin if you wear it outside on a hot day, and whereas satin is notorious for absorbing odors, you will want to wash it as soon as possible. Again, delicate cycle, cold water, alone, dry on a hanger.COLORING:The shawl collar, sleeve cuffs, and pocket tops are all solid black satin (the same color as the body of the robe.) The light catches it and it has a satiny shine. The scroll work is as follows: Base= washed out, very light gold mixed with a satiny sand color. Outer Scroll = if the base color got wet, this would be an accurate description of this second color (it is a darker gold, mixed with a wet sand color.) Inner Scroll = burnt orange/brown, like a saddle color. All the scroll work has the same satin shimmer as the black.BELT:The belt sits me MUCH higher than a normal robe would. It hits me at the bottom of my rib cage, where my Nautica Robe belt falls exactly where I would wear a normal belt and pant; just slightly below the waist. The feeling of the belt this high will take some getting use to. The biggest problem with the belt is robe closure. Obviously the satin is much slipperier than terry cloth robes; the satin naturally wants to slip and fall downward. With the belt being so high, all the material of the robe below the belt has no retention system to keep it from sliding open. As you walk, you will feel the front of the robe (bottom up to the level of the belt) get caught by the wind, motion and gravity, and as such, naturally starts to slide open. This could have been counteracted by the belt being 6” lower (but then the chest area would have slid open.) There are two small ties inside of the robe to aid with closure, but seeing how they are at the same height as the belt, they aid very little. Lastly, the belt is about half as wide as a normal robe belt, and about 10” shorter (refer to the photo of the knot in my belt.) The belt will not stay tied with a simple knot, you must put a bow in it (due to the satiny material.) I have just barely enough belt to tie it, then tie a bow in it.DURABILITY:I have ready reviews about the fragility of the robe straight out of the package. I can say that was not the case with the robe that I received. There was no straggling thread are frayed seams. In fact, I washed the robe before wearing it; delicate cycle, cold water, with no other garments, then hung it in a room with the ceiling fan on; it was dry 30 minutes later. Most importantly, there was not damage.SURVEY SAYS:The true test of any purchase is whether or not you would purchase it again; and the answer to that is resoundingly YES! Despite the few drawbacks listed above, I would say that it is a $24 gamble worth taking. Again, there are anomalies and exceptions to any rule, but if you are conscious of the size that you order, then you should be more than pleased with your purchase.

Beautiful, but small!
Looks great and a very luxurious fabric. Comes off as very rich and suave, not to mention sexy. But even though I bought the larger size, at just over 6 feet, this was just sized poorly. Belt was way up too far.I would highly recommend this four guys that are 5 foot nine or shorter, and buy one size up for comfort.

Is Robed Used?
Robe fits fine, but belt loops are some what high. I think someone else purchased this and sent it back. The tag has been cut off.

Great Looking for the Price
Ok for the price this thing looks exactly like what I was wanting. I'm pretty sure I want to glue it on my body so it never has to come off.It took me awhile to order it though because of everyone going back and forth on how to get a size that fits. Now that I am a proud expert kimono owner allow me to be your liaison through this troubling time.I weigh 180 pounds and 6'1, men tend to think they're taller than they actually are because when I say this guys freak out and say I must be 6'4 because they think they're 6' no you're all just short it's ok. I have slender hips but a very mild pudge on me, pretty much unnoticeable in a shirt. My waist is a 32 in skinny jeans and medium shirts fit me formingly as they should. I ordered the XXL, which would be a large in America. It comes down an inch past my knees, which is perfect. The shoulder seams line up right at the edge of my shoulder as they should. The sleeves are faintly to short, stopping towards the top of my wrist, but not really to noticable enough to care about. Most importantly the freaking strap isn't to short or high! I read so many reviews that said great besides the tiny strap. You have to understand that the rest of the world isn't a bunch of fatty patties like Americans are, you're just fat. I can easily wrap this thing around my waist, the only issue is it's so damn silky sexy that it comes untied easy once you start to karate stuff. As for the strap being high up, yeah it sorta is compared to robes you're use to but this is meant to be traditional Japanese garb, that's just wear it's meant to sit.So my recommendation is if you're lean and under 5'11 order one size up or it maybe baggy. If you're average or even have a beer gut order two sizes up. Over 6'1 and not a fatty mc fat fat I be worried about a 3x because though the sleeves will sit better it maybe baggy around the torso.

Stopped short of being usable. Cannot recommend.
The good: Material is soft and silky, doesn't smell bad even after extended or sweaty use. Looks good and sophisticated. Stitching hemming etc is as I expected at this price point. Receives compliment. The bad: Pretty bad about getting static whenever the weather is a bit dry, and I live in Alabama. Doesn't breath at all. The waist belt sits too high, right below my sternum, so eating while wearing the robe is not comfortable. The ugly: You must be thinking why I don't just loosen up the belt while eating? Because unlike any other double breasted garment, it does not have a fastener or button for keeping the inner breast in place. and it's slick, so it constantly slips and gets undone. That makes it impossible (and vulgar) to wear it without a shirt and pants. Doesn't matter how much I tighten up the waist belt, it will get undone by the time I walk to the kitchen from bedroom and expose the middle. The same reason the pockets are useless as well.I bought it to try out a cheap robe for a couple of years before investing into an expensive one. I am loving the robe experience in winter, but probably not going to be able to use this in summer or for too long either. I wish they spent one or two more cents to add another fastener inside. I cannot recommend this robe.
