This product was straightforward and easy to put up. I've attached the instructions since many people have stated that they didn't receive them in the box.Specific tools needed: 2 x 1/2" wrenches or adjustable wrench(es), screwdriver, saw/circular saw, drill & bits (if you want to drill pilot holes), sledgehammer, tape measureAdditional items to purchase: a piece of wood (to mount physical mailbox onto), screws and/or bolts (to mount mailbox onto the wood and on the brackets)Note: if your post is installed in a ditch, like mine was, you don't want to drive the post 2 feet down right off the get go because you won't be able to back that sucker out!! Start shorter and temporarily install the pipe to see if the mailbox sits in the correct height range (40" - 48" per Post Office standards, ideally between 42" - 46")I thought that I might have to actually dig a hole since I live on a dirt road and I figured that I would get stopped by rocks while driving the post but the sledge did a great job of driving it right in.Mark your post at the 2 ft mark but start shorter if you are installing down in a ditch as you don't want to drive it down that far. If you go too far down you risk your mailbox not being within the specified height if you use all three bolts on the main pole. This was almost an issue for me as the upper hole on the main pole was in the uppermost hole on the ground post.I think that if someone hits by mailbox now they will incur some damage to their vehicle from the heavy gauge pole...and I'm alright with that at this point because I've replaced enough boxes & posts in the last 20 years. Hopefully this will be my last post, although I know that I'll probably have to replace my mailbox as I kept my old XL Rubbermaid one. I'll upgrade to a heavier duty mailbox when the time comes.FYI: The package weighs about 22 pounds NOT 220 pounds as stated.

I will note before I begin that this is only autumn. I got this for winter, and the snow plows going down the road that typically take out our mailbox. Thus it would be hard to give this a full review without winter being here.The pole itself seems sturdy, it's solid. My only complaint was the one of the beackets was bent so something must have run over it. LOL. I don't know how it could have gotten bent because it really is so sturdy. Also one thing everybody should note, which wasn't really clear from the description, is that you need to use wood on the bottom of the mailbox in order to mount it on to this unit. The standard mailbox brackets don't work because the pole itself is too long to fit under and the bracket holes do not line up. So one needs to mount the mail box on wood before its on on the pole.

So my daughter was able to install this mailbox holder but since we have a slope away from the road we need a longer post. You can call the company and get an additional post but it's not cheap. Would be better if they offered an extension on amazon or a couple different height options. Trying to figure out a way to use an iron fence post to extend it.I think the concept is good and it does swing well. Just need to adjust the height somehow.

I have a steep ditch next to my road, so I appreciate the height. I installed it on ground about 18 inches below the road surface and with the bracket sunk the recommended two feet into the ground, but still have the mailbox sitting at about 46 inches above the road surface. It is on the highest setting, using only the two bottom bolt holes on the post and the top holes on the bracket. The thin pipe and long horizontal reach looks great with a jumbo mailbox, almost like it's just floating in the air.

Sturdy substantial product, with good instructions. Easy for one person to install. I am very pleased with it.I almost didn’t purchase because I could not find info about how mailbox connects to the pole. I hope my photos explain the required spacing to future buyers. Adding a washer (because the holes are quite big), screw up through the provided metal cross pieces into a mounting plate (wood, metal or plastic) you provide that attaches to the base of a mailbox that you provide.

This product is perfect. It fits my roadside well, it was easy to erect and assemble, and seems very durable. I highly recommend it.

This post allows you to set the vertical post well away from the roadway . The horizontal piece upon which you attach the actual mailbox arches over. In a challenging situation where you might worry that the post might be hit, this arrangement works quite well. It seemed to be made of heavy duty material.

I almost gave this mailbox post 5 stars. But… there’s a few simple annoyances that prevented me from doing so. The holes in the bracket that are attached to the post, the ones used to attach a piece of wood to the post, which in turn the mailbox is mounted to, are too large for any normal sized screws. So I had to use washers so the wood screws wouldn’t pull through, not a big deal, but they should’ve been included in the kit or the holes on the bracket been a little smaller. The post that is actually pounded into the ground is soft, and also short. I had to purchase a separate post that was 2 feet taller. I live off of a state highway where the ditches are real ditches, and the steel post included in the kit was not tall enough to bring the mailbox bottom to 45”, it also cracked and a chunk broke off the top when pounding it into the earth. This didn’t happen with the second post I purchased.
