Art To Heart Book, Star of Wonder

I really like the designs in this book. Finding Christmas designs that have a true Christmas meaning is hard to find. There are many wonderful projects in this book. However, I find this book a bit confusing in the instructions. It just takes time to sort it all out.

I have been looking for holiday quilting that was not filled with Santas and snowmen. This booklet did the trick. The figures are whimsical, the applique easy enough for a beginner, and the projects are varied. There are many good gift ideas, and plenty of last minute do-ables for those of us who still begin too close to the holidays.

I am such a fan of Nancy Halverson's books & fabrics. "Star of Wonder" is no exception. She has such a unique style that is timeless. Her instructions are easy to follow. Her templates are always perfect. She gives several ideas for one pattern. I particularly like this book, because it let's me share the nativity and true meaning of Christmas, not just the Santa scene.

Every page you turn in this booklet brings you to new quilt patterns which you will need to make. There is a distinctively religious approach to Christmas here which is refreshing. The only down side is that in 2013 I doubt you can find the panel Star of Wonder which is one of the main projects in the book.

I bought this book because I saw the sheep on Pinterest. Of course, I checked Amazon books and there it was. The book is full of lovely Christmastime designs and very cool sheep. I'm giving it only four stars because the designs are those pesky overlapped designs that are a PITA to trace. Nevertheless, I'm not sorry I bought it.

Love all Art to Heart Books and this one is no exception. It is so hard to find simple applique designs that focus on the true meaning of Christmas! I don't normally use the traditional hand applique method but the "ragged edge" method and Art to Heart designs work great!

I like this book, it has some really nice ideas in it. I wish Amazon would let the viewer see a few pictures on the projects in this book though.

This book has been a great inspiration for me. I have used many of the patterns adapting them as squares for my seasonal wall art applique quilts.
