Tru-Flate41-101 In-Line Tool Oiler

Fill with a syringe.
I gave it 4 stars, because used only a few times. However, I would like to address the filler opening issue. I used a syringe (needle). A 20 gauge works well. After sucking the oil out of the container, carefully wipe the oil off the needle. Stick the needle well in to the reservoir and shoot. Worked well for me. No mess. Syringes are cheap. Replace the protective cap on the needle when finished and store in a safe for next time. Good luck.Update 11-22-2019. I ran into an interesting issue later. I attached the Oiler directly to a 18 gauge brad nailer. If the tool is stored with the feed office pointing down, most of the oil will leak out. So, I disconnect the tool from the source and it accordingly

Item is NOT what is pictured
The item picture in the ad shows the screw for filling oil located in the metal end piece, which is very specifically what I wanted. The item I received, with the correct item number, has the oil fill screw dead center in the plastic middle piece. This is precisely what I did not want because the screws in the plastic can strip out too quickly according to reviews of other similar products. What is this, bait and switch with incorrect pictures?

Waste of money and oil
1st getting oil into this thing is a serious pain in the hinney.2nd it slows the air flow to the point my floor nailer won't push the nails in all the way. Threw it in the trash!

Does the job, for a great price.
took me about 3 minutes to figure out how to fill it, after reading the perfectly written directions on the back of the container. Really - it explains exactly what to do, and i was able to fill it up with no problem. Just use a little common sense, obviously you need to break the air seal , but it doesn't take much. Just unscrew the clear part a slight bit, then remove the filling screw. You do need a narrow neck filler to avoid a mess, but that's it. I hooked this up to nail gun and it worked perfectly. Didnt use up much oil at all, but i definitely noticed a decrease after all day usage so i know it was doing it's job. But it doesnt over-oil to where the air gun was spitting it out onto my work.

Easy to fill and so far looks good.
So far so good. It was a piece of cake to fill it. I just followed the directions on the package. "Take the screw out, loosen the plastic vial about a 1/4 turn to let air escape and fill. Then tighten the vial back up by hand."Now I am just waiting to see if the oil comes out into the tools. I hooked up a blow gum and blew a lot of air and didn't see any sign of oil on the paper towel I was blowing into, but hopefully it is working. I will update if I find that the oil level isn't going down, but this is a nice little device. And again, it is really easy to fill, just follow the directions.

Not worth the hassle
I was dissapointed with this thing. Its very hard to fill it with oil without spilling it all over. I opened the jar up a bit like they say to and tried to put the oil in, but always wind up spilling. Its way easier for me to just add a couple drops to the tool inlet at the start and end of each tool use as I connect it. Its less work than dealing with this.It has a rather crude mechanism within it to control the dispensing of oil that relies on compressing a little o-ring with a set screw and metal disk.Is it too much oil? Too little? Does it change over time? Do you want to trust a $400 impact to this device or know for sure its been oiled by adding a few dropsyourself?I wish I hadnt bought it.Thats my experience with it FWIW. I dont recommend this at all.

Finally something that works!
After wasting weeks on 3 different plastic in-line type oilers (that all pretty much look alike), this one actually works. Filling is a breeze if you follow the simple directions and use a bottle with a mini fill tip (4 oz. bottle of Marvel tool oil, in my case). The fill screw can be a bit tricky due to angle and position, but it's manageable. My first fill resulted in a nasty leak at the fill screw when under pressure. Unscrew, clean, replace and tighten tight made the seal work as designed, just make sure it's screwed in tight. Overall very happy to finally find a transparent in-line oiler that works as described and doesn't leak profusely from a poor design and shotty off-shore manufacturing.
