Must read
It cut through the noise of understanding how business models and business models analysis work to give you a clear framework.

Must read for professors and students as well as current and aspiring entrepreneurs in the field.
As a serial entrepreneur, Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship at Worcester State University, mentor for student entrepreneurs, venture advisor for startup companies, as well as an Adjunct Lecturer at Babson College, I read this book through these multiple hats and found that it wholly resonated with my experiences in each capacity. I felt as though the book was speaking to my experiences in designing effective business models for my ventures and also conveyed what I try to incorporate in my entrepreneurship lectures. What I found most extraordinary about the book was how it uniquely and expertly blended the academic and practical elements of entrepreneurship, a challenging task for almost any book that traditionally caters to either one of the audiences.Professors Bock and George create a methodical, deconstructed approach to exploring entrepreneurship in a logical, sequential, and comprehensible way that makes the book accessible to practically any reader. For my lectures, I have found it challenging to use a book that encapsulates the true essence of business model development but I believe my search is now over. I intend to recommend this book to any current and aspiring entrepreneurs I meet and also to integrate it as recommended reading within my course syllabi. In many ways, I wish this book was available sooner, in time to help me with the development and structuring of my own business models! But I am happy to know it will serve this purpose for all those who read it.

Great book that pulls it all together--for doers, thinkers and mentors
I’m a long-time entrepreneur who has been involved with six start-ups, two that made initial public offerings, two that were acquired and one that is a profitable business yet to exit. For three years I headed an accelerator inside the University of Wisconsin-Madison where we took university developed intellectual property from technical proof of concept out to the market and incorporation. We helped create 15 startup companies out of approximately 30 projects that we funded and worked with—others are still in progress. In my experience, successful startups result from the right mix of product development, strategy, product-market fit and business model development combined with a good team and execution. There are certainly no silver bullets among the plethora of books out there that cover those areas but I found Bock and George’s ‘The Business Model Book’ to be a complete and practical guide to help managers in startups and ongoing corporations alike to develop and test business models. It is a book that dovetails with my experiences as an entrepreneur and a developer/mentor of other entrepreneurs. The book’s interaction with the exercises and templates on the companion website not only helps practitioners but provides useful aids for teaching and mentoring. If you think that business model development is a key to the success of your enterprise, if you are struggling to bring the next level of innovation to your business model or are mentoring or teaching entrepreneurship, this is a key book to have.

Great read for both entrepreneurs and students
I work with lots of entrepreneurs and students and developing a business model is one of the critical early steps that often proves to be very challenging. The Business Model Book does a great job translating current accedemic research into understandable and applicable lessons. Each chapter is includes great examples of the key concept being discussed and also provides the tools to help the reader apply the materials to their specific business idea. It is a very well written book and one that will prove useful to startup entrepreneurs, corporate innovators and students for years to come.

Great resource for managers and entrepreneurs to think through business models
As someone who teaches entrepreneurship and mentors entrepreneurs in various startup venues, I find this book invaluable. It uses straight talk and actionable insights that can be used immediately. I especially like the worksheet resources and concrete examples. I would recommend this to managers who are looking for new ways to think about business models as well as to those starting up. I think this is a worthwhile add to anyone's toolbox and plan to include it as a resource in upcoming programs.

Gives you a thorough understanding with a blueprint for your own business
I like how the book describes the concepts of business models before delving into various models that can be used for various size/stage businesses. Better still there are real-world examples and worksheets that can be used to build your own model upon analysis of you own business. Enjoyed reading and would recommend because it would definitely be of practical use.

Great text for students of Business models
I have read the strategyzer books on business models and find this text more robust in terms of the why if business models. This is less of a how to book. I am a student of innovation and this is one of our required texts.
