I can't tell you how many times I have broken other cheese slicer's. Tried several of them including some picked up locally. Decided to go for the German engineered and manufactured cheese slicer. Extremely happy with it! It is absolutely fantastic. And it is very sturdy, rolls easily, slices beautifully, and a simple to clean up. I am extremely happy with my purchase! I will be purchasing many more for gifts!

Looked for a cheese slicer that had a solid handle and extra wires. This cheese slicer met all of my needs. Perfect slices each time. Easy to use. Read enough reviews that thankfully reminded me to not put this in the dishwasher.

I have my grandmothers and she has had it forever it finally broke so I found this one love it but not as much as my grandmothers but very heavy duty and works great

Use Great care when cutting slices of hard cheese. My "Heavy Duty Steel Wire" broke the 2nd night I was slicing Extra Sharp Cabot Cheddar 4" wide 1/8" thick. The first two slices cut fine. Tried a third slice and BANG; the wire broke. Appears the is no way to fix or replace the wire, so I need a new Slicer. I'm very disappointed that my slicer that is so highly rated by many Amazon customers failed immediately. I can only assume it was bad luck that I got a defective one. I consider reviews carefully, looking at content, the number of reviews and prices. My old slicer lasted over 4 years with no problems. Its plastic handle broke recently, but I still use it since the steel wire.roller end still works fine.
